I think you mean the “Breakdown Road: Final Challenge!” ‘cause the “Hurry” alternation is just getting the key and going back while the Final Challenge is at the bottom where you have to do the 8 well-timed Long Jumps (which you can alternatively do dives for so it’s not difficult).

Whoever's bright idea it was to have you go through moons 5,6,7, and 8 without Cappy at your side, go take the Tide Pod Challenge! Perhaps the most complicated moons to obtain in this whole kingdom! And for moon 18, I'd recommend starting off at the fully shaded platform at heading to the platform diagonal to it on the left! Peach will be a lifesaver for you when you try it because she's standing on the start point!

For breakdown road, don’t try to get both moons at the same time. Focus on the lock and key one first. It’s actually the hardest, IMO. For the second one, don’t even bother crossing the top. Instead, go both ways on the bottom. It gives you extra practice, with fewer distractions, and puts you into a repetitive motion. A couple dozen tries this way should nail it! Also, I noticed the best time to start the long jump is on the very edge of each platform when it looks like it’s a single frame from Mario falling completely off lol

If you look carefully at the sub-levels in the Dark Side, you will noticed that they are based on previous sub-levels with some requiring Mario's acrobatic skills (no Cappy) while some require the use of Yoshi.

Oh my god I NAILED Breakdown Road on my first try. I can see why people had so much trouble with it though, I almost missed a few of those long jumps. And if anybody’s having trouble getting through Vanishing Road, Assist Mode can really save you. Yeah, you’d be giving up a bit of pride, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

It's the editing. Selective on the harder parts I'm sure. And I assume his "bad" movements are just his unfamiliarity with moving slower, dumbing it down in a way, so we quick completionists keep up without having to go back. Here is a tip I found a little easier doing breakdown road. Get to the end and get the key, go forward but as you do, position the camera behind you, let the bullet bill hit you and you will drop down..then start long jumping to the other side while the bullet bill Is chasing you, let it break the bricks for you to get the moon, then go up and get the other moon..get them both at once. Hope this helps!

I was able to do 4 by long jumping, then jumping and grabbing onto the ledge and then I repeated it 4 more times and got the moon In other words you don't need 8 perfect long jumps

Monty2289 roll the straight paths, and don't accidently long jump into the sides of the stairs. when rolling, shake your joycons to achieve maximum speed.
