This one hit me different! My heart goes out to Rob, bless his heart. Its so easy for society to slander the police forces but this really is the best insight into what a police officer can go through, they really give their life to suffering just to protect the public… James you’re a special kind of man to do what you do, interviews aren’t easy in general, never mind what you hear also having to sit across people who have killed or been through horrific unfathomable stuff, that in itself takes a certain skill that not many have… Thank you for sharing these with us🙏🏼 Best wishes to you both🤍

The way he laughs and relishes at his own crazy stories 😮 the exciteability throws me …. Not sure what to think . As an officer he would have had to rein this in so he clearly can ..obviously the upbringing has impacted his perceptions and I guess that’s understandable . I’m sorry for what he went through as a child and I’m glad he still can laugh , better than crying . An amazing life and if he sat in front of me telling these stories I would be equally fascinated . It’s a great interview because James did not show any disrespect or question his authenticity - sometimes just giving an ear is enough without judgement .

Thanks for sharing the honesty is so refreshing. We live in a complex society and it is fascinating to get a little glimpse into what goes on. Hopefully we can all take away things to help us in our own lives. James you are right to protect your kids, they disagree now but your advice goes in. I would also kill for my kids. Never let them have sleepovers with anyone, never had random babysitters, have them on tracker they agree they are older now and studying abroad.…. Robert I hope your Ella lets you in, she needs you more than she realizes and I hope she will reach out, if you were my dad I would be proud of you she is lucky to have you good and bad. Thanks for all your service. James thanks for being so Glaswegian.

Super interview and what a guy. I can relate to his childhood very well though his sounds way worse mother was a strong, educated women and it stood yo the three of us. His mental health issues to, going back 10 years I was falling apart, I called it stopper in the bottle syndrome. From childhood you carry so much inside and continue to through adulthood until one day separation, job loss whatever causes the stopper to pop. Like him I came through and didn't commit that final act. I could easily listen to him for another 2 hours and you. Thanks.
