This man, Robin Gibb, and his twin brother, Maurice left school at the age of thirteen! They said in interviews that they saw no need for further schooling as they already knew what they wanted to do for their life’s work and were already doing it. This is what a person can accomplish when they really “want it” and put their mind to it!!! They had the world as their school. They taught themselves how to harmonize and how to write and compose songs. Along with their older brother Barry, they created some of the world’s most incredible music in the industry. Just goes to show that success does not require extensive schooling and that self-determination can take you a long way. College isn't for everyone. Both Maurice and Robin Gibb left this world way too soon. May God rest their souls.

Wow, this is a treasure. And what an honour that he was asked to speak at this forum. This man left school at 13yrs of age!!!!!! And now sounding highly academic!!!!!!!!. l love the way he fought for what he believed in. It's also interesting how English,[his accent etc] Robin remained, altho' spending a lot of time in the USA

Robin was very active in artists copy rights. When not rambling, Robin was very articulate and had a very good vocabulary. Robin has always been a fighter, even if he had to do it solo, he stood up for what he believed. He kept his British accent as Robin primarily lived in England.

What a lovely video this is to find and watch. That Robin was so well respected to be asked/elected to be president of the international copyright society and the Heritage Society by such prominent people makes this old/new fan proud. I believe I read that the term was usually two years, and he was reelected to a second term as president and remained president until his death. Wonderful to see that he wasn't considered to be just a pop singer, songwriter, but a man of real substance and a "fighter". I had no idea of any of this until I read his obituary a couple of months ago. I think it's great that he was able to find causes close to his heart in his later life.

I wish that Robin and Maurice had gotten regular check-ups with their doctors to find out what was wrong with him before they actually found out themselves a Maurices condition he he didn't know until the end mean I don't even know if he knew cuz he had a heart attack while they were operating on him so maybe he did know but um Robin had the same problem as Maurice I wish that he had found out earlier so maybe he would have been saved of that terrible cancer he ended up with I hope Barry gets checked by his regular doctor to make sure he's okay in the future

They may have lived longer if colonoscopies had been done. Everyone should ask their doctors. A family member died of colon cancer at a young age and we now all have this procedure done as recommended.
