seeing Casey's footwork on the track is impressive. It makes me sad that so few OEMs are offering cars or trucks with a manual shift (with a clutch pedal).
@SALEENS7GTR53 жыл бұрын
It seems like more manufacturers are offering a manual option on newer cars solely because they can afford to do so. Since the majority of their sales of SUVs/CUVs have given them so much head room to develop other, more sporty options, they can afford to justify giving cars manuals for the smaller batch of people that will still want to buy a car with one. However, in terms of a specifically new, affordable manual sports car, really only Subaru/Toyota and Mazda are offering any sort of option.
@mmonkeyman14033 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I just don't think there's a super good reason for them to exist anymore. I have one, but I dont think it makes much sense to offer them on every vehicle when automatics are as good as they are now.
@idrisddraig23 жыл бұрын
Sorry USA, most cars sold in Europe are still manual. In japan it's similar to the USA except for poverty spec (Company/work) vehicles which are all still manual.

Notice he checks the brake pedal feel at the end of the quicker sections of the track before entering the braking zone. That could also be to transfer weight in the car before entering the corner too.

My first race was driving 8hrs to NASA Nationals at midnight at Mid Ohio, leaving from Central IL after an all night thrash prepping the car, to just barely make tech the next morning with my buddies '86 AI LS/T56 swapped Camaro back in 2003. I've been hooked on road course ever since. I'm now 41, but life happens and I've been unable to get back to it. I'm currently building a 1990 Firebird Formula 350 for track days, possibly TT eventually, while keeping it vintage retro with period correct upgrades. It's an awesome opportunity your giving these guys in both racing and aviation. As a racing, engineering and aviation geek myself, I've been following along and really enjoy your content.

So much respect for all the work and logistics that goes into these videos and making those young engineers both better people and engineers. I genuinely believe your content could blow up (not that it is the point) Lots of love all the way from Budapest

Yes! That was what I was hoping for from a youtuber collab last year, but it quickly went badly. Jon is an upstanding sportsman!
@ScottJ1753 жыл бұрын
@@CaseyPutsch I admittedly am not much of a smack talker. It can very quickly go too far and just become annoying. I personally detest interpersonal drama and any content or entertainment that uses it as the primary focus is something I have no interest in watching. See most "reality" content on channels like History and TLC for examples. In this case you did just enough to be fun without being annoying.

Getting ready for a race is a serious amount of work no matter where or what you're racing. I really enjoyed the discussion between Casey and his Genius garage team about the behavior and setup of the car. There's a lot "said" and considered with very few words exchanged. This requires a lot of experience. Seeing the feet while driving is great.
