I think that's fair, I have him down as WR Y/Z guy. He can be your Jitterbug Z guy that's hard to keep covered on the short inside route, or he can be your outside Y guy threatening to burn past defenders before stopping and coming back to the inside like a Y. Great player, his size measurements are a slight worry but of the smaller WR's his build actually looks like it might hold up at the nfl level (he does have some muscle and isn't a complete twig out there)

The Bengals drafted a very similar prospect in 4th Charlie Jones also known as Chuck Sizzle. Draft profiles should be pretty close I think Ladd is touch faster 40 & Sizzle is 1" or 2" taller if I remember right his 40 was 4.44 about the same age weight production. Sizzle's production did jump his last yr when he transfered to Purdue from Iwoa. He could be a descent best ball sleeper the favorite to play Boyds spot but Gesicki could also could get a lot Boyd's production. Ladd is a higher prospect but they have simalar profiles.

@willjay9216 ай бұрын
@@fk4410 Leggette has a fairly high upside but a very low floor. Guys with his profile don't usually make it. McConkey assuming he stays healthy will be a very good player, his traits suggest an extremely high floor and even a fairly high ceiling. There's really not much he can't do. He's a better version of Pearsall who I also like quite a bit. But Pearsall I don't think will win as easily on the outside as Ladd will.
@fk44106 ай бұрын
@@willjay921 yeah I also think legget could bust maybe AD too but both have higher ceilings than Ladd and I think one will make it probably. And i just see the top 3 in front and I see Thomas making it a big 4. i see him beeing 1500+ yard guy consistently outside and maybe one of the others I mentioned will join those 4. Ladd more 1200-1500. pearsal is slower bit bigger. He could be a nacua or kupp type guy or he could be a silent number 3/4
@willjay9216 ай бұрын
@@fk4410 I love AD's upside but I'm just not sure if he's self motivated. If he is he has as high potential as anyone tbh. He reminds me of CeeDee Lamb. BTJ is kind of a 1 trick pony in my opinion, he's a deep threat. He's very similar to DK as is Leggette, neither have the hips to be much of a route runner. Neither create seperation aside from deep balls. I think McConkey has a higher ceiling than ya think. He reminds of an Antonio Brown on the field. He's gonna create great seperation in man because of his ability to sink & cut, he's also very savvy finding spots in zone. I don't think people understand he's different. He just didn't get the ball enough because of Bowers but what's interesting is he ran big boy routes in college unlike Bowers who ran alot of screens and routes behind the l.o.s. People are sleeping very hard on his ability thinking he's just your average white wr, he's a better Cooper Kupp, one who can consistently win outside. Of course he may not be so lucky to have a Matt Stafford type forcing the ball to only him. But he will be highly effective. I see Pearsall somewhat similar to Kupp as well but more of a poor man's version.

...look... Hea beyond wes welker , delma,, etc. He has polished skills, good speed and fair hands. But he told me zay was shorter and less athletic.... ZAY FLOWERS IS CONSIDERABLY MORE ATHLETIC ON THE FIELD. Lad is a good complimentary wr and would be best served motioning sometimes and winning in slot. While he played on winning teams, you have to be consistent in evaluation.. Keon coleman was part of a turn around, undefeated, best player on what some would say was the best team..best wr on the field when nabers and thomas were in the same game..but you guys knocked his production and he had almost double the yards of lad with inconsistent qb play. I like lad...but i never watched a game and said "man, thats the best player on field." 2nd round pick is fair...running sub 4.4 locks that in...but the jitter bug nature, yac, on the field ability doesnt compare to zay in my opinion...i will say this, hes probably more polished than zay , maybe straight line faster a touch but i feel we reaching on this prospect a touch. @jamesnelson8469 wes welker ran a 4.65. Edelman and admendola ran mid 4 5s. Edelman was also a superbowl mvp and welker was part of an offense that broke almost every statistical record. So there's no shade to wes. Ladd tested better than them but I'd be lying if I said he was more exciting in college. Could be the offense but hes a 300 yd wr and never really was the best player on his team, albeit he played for Georgia. Edelman was a qb but was electric a d wes welker wad simply exciting to watch in that offense. If LlAd has a career similar to Edelman or welker then that means he honestly had a good one. But zay flowers...u can't put the film in on both these men and tell me why guy doesn't have a little more of something with the ball in his hands. And we make it seem like llad run such a faster time...he ran 4.39...zay ran 4.42 and you can see the difference in creativity with ball in his hands.. Llad is a solid wr but FILm and production doesn't supercede a 40 for me. Hes a 2nd round pick. To have him above guys like worthy, mitchell, coleman, legette even, is mind boggling to me. Hes not gonna be a teams main target...if he is thst team wr room isn't that great and is in trouble

Also his route tree is arguably the best in this class behind Marvin Harrison Jr. Stop watching skin color and highlights and watch tape and measurable. Sure....he has shiftiness and quickness, as well as average top-end speed as 4.39 is NOT elite as a wideout. In the NCAA these attributes has worked as a wideout....however, his build and frame does not equate to a proto-typical NFL wideout. NFL corners will "press" him, preventing a legit release off the line, and as a WR1 he will face the best of the best cornerbacks who are faster, stronger, and more athleticism. It's no longer the SEC....this IS the next level and at 180 lbs, he will struggle as a wideout if in fact is being drafted for a WR1 position. Otherwise, he projects as a top-end slot WR at the next level.

Its the elephant in the room HE'S WHITE. Now at corner he'd have no chance no matter how good he was because of the NFLs bias. Its not like each race hasn't had to deal with this type of prejudice. the black QB, because he had duel threat abilities they would move him to wr its a few guys that probably could have been great QBs but didn't gwt the chance. But then when tebo came with a similar style to the black QB he was given a chance at QB AND HE SUUUUCKED!! 😂😂 But the white guy gets his too! Because they want to move the white CB to saftey! Ive seen ONE Guy play corner my whole life and im 38! (Jason sehorn) And before CMC Peyton Hillis was the only other white running back who started and rushed for 1000 yards when i was growning up (full backs dont count) because thats what they'd do to talented white rbs, move them to FB 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ Glad Vick, McNabb, McNair, (damn it was a bunch of Mc's 😂 i was about to say McCulpepper 😂) But Culpeper and brooks, Stewart were able to break the molds. And now we have CMC and Cupp, and Thelen are all around the top of their respective fields which is cool to see. Now we just need the defense to break through! So until the day we get a PRO BOWL white corner back we aint ready
