My complaint for Nabers is he doesn’t do well with violence during the route and at the catch point. Ja’Marr is blends violence with explosiveness and often uses DBs aggression against them becz it’s not easy to keep being fast and box Ja’Marr simultaneously. OBJ is like a cat just ridiculous quickness and acceleration and leaping ability while having FREAKISH HANDS. Like +10” hands. Nabers acceleration is ridiculous. Seeing his 0-60 from a DBs point of view is like being dropped in an ice bath. And he can hang in the air with the best of them. (42” vert) I think he has more to learn… which means his potential ceiling is still a good deal higher.
@andrewjennings23610 ай бұрын
Nabers himself admitted that he needs to work on breaking away from press. That said Chase as a prospect also struggled with press, and I can’t think of many prospects who crush press. Harrison is better at it, but still not perfect. As far as struggling with violence in general goes… yeah no. Nabers is DJ Moore esq. in how he breaks tackles and gets more yards after initial contact. I mean if you compare his tape with guys like Odunze or even his teammate Brian Thomas Jr. it’s night and day.
@Fearlessleadr710 ай бұрын
@@andrewjennings236 Good points!! You gotta keep in mind when he struggles with violence. It’s not after the catch. It’s before the catch. Ja’Marr and press is interesting… Back then, he wanted a DB to press him becz it gave him the license to commit OPI. He literally removed DBs from coverage and threw them on the floor and caught long passes becz he “lost” the press exchange. It was hilarious. Chase is the master of the hit me and see what happens route tactic. 😂 Hand fight him during the route and you’ll get pushed off and the ref will have a hard time calling it cuz you were touching him. Jam him and he will put you behind him. But it didn’t always work so I get the struggles with press label. But the late push off tactic was half his TDs his rookie year. 😅
@Fearlessleadr710 ай бұрын
@@andrewjennings236 MHJ has the highest floor of any WR I can remember coming out. He has been a pro at OSU for a few seasons now. But his ceiling is high not necessarily through the roof. He’ll be a top 20 WR I dnt know about more than that. I need him to prove some things to buy in. He’s not the most likely to have that Ja’Marr Chase like rookie breakout season. That takes route winning, tackle breaking, and break away speed consistently and simultaneously. MHJ is going get open catch the ball and get tackled. He’ll have seasons like CeeDee Lamb and Tee Higgins. Awesome but the way talk about the guy is like we expect him to be T.O. or Calvin Johnson or Julio and we saw those guy beat Hall of Fame DBs in college and in the pros before we hyped them up.
@andrewjennings23610 ай бұрын
@@Fearlessleadr7 I’ll give you that Harrison isn’t as athletic as he could be. But he’s also A) tall B) extremely technically polished and C) able to produce regardless of offense. He’s also still well above average athletically, Those are all not completely common traits among prospects, especially the savviness and techniques he uses to get open. So while he may not be a Calvin Johnson level prospect, IMO you are underrating his ceiling. It honestly feels like you don’t like this class as much as the market does, which is fine. But with Bestball drafts, I’d rather bet on these guys ceilings, because I just don’t believe the guys going around them have the same level of ceilings.

Yeah I don’t like the Odell comp bc the hands difference . You’re so right about Odell. Prime Odell’s hands were other worldy. Initially I thought _"FINALLY,_ a suitable WR for Justin Herbert." Then we learned that the Chargers hired at least their 3rd utterly garbage passing play-caller in a row, the guy who reduced LJ8's TDs by half for a 3-year-span! With the Ravens I get it; It did delay but not stop Lamar from netting the huge contract. With Herbert he *already **_has_** that.* Wtf are the Chargers doing? I can't think of a team with a high-enough pick he wouldn't be wasted on. Unless someone trades up, he might end up on the Bears & _that_ would be terrifying.

You could look at it as he'll get more yac yards because of less slot fades, or that hell get less receiving yards because the slot fade is one of the easiest plays for a receiver in college, from what ive read, due to being 1 on 1 with a safety that they can burn. I see it as a detriment for his profile
