Pearsall is going to be a Swiss Army Knife for the Shanahan offense. I don't think he's a pure #1 at anything, but he is going to be above average at everything and he will do whatever the creative mind of Shanahan wants him to do and do it well. He's a great technician. Bubble screens, reverses, slot, outside, Jets sweep... I think the defense will just not be able to put him in a box and they'll never know what he's going to do when he's on the field.

They needed to address making sure Purdy has the weapons he needs, especially with the uncertainty of the two stars. Most likely won't be able to keep both Deebo and Aiyuk after this season when they have to pay Purdy, so it was good to get this WR. The offensive linemen the 9ers need will be gotten today, in round 2, 3. May see them trade up for a tackle or possibly one of the corners.

@@lee9617 Nah. Johnson is and has been his whole NFL career the outside X WR and he's extremely successful at it. Despite his size, Coleman is 100% a slot guy at the NFL level. Pearsall and McConkey could slide into that Z role very easily.

The worst pick for the niners. We basically replaced one wr with another. We had zero need for it since a deal with Aiyuk was doable. We NEEDED a CB badly and Cooper Dejean and Kool-aid were on the board make it make sense! Meanwhile our rivals continue to close their gaps. This is why we won’t get over the hump because we can’t stop the pass. It’s always our weakness and I guess that’s not changing.
