In Britain we say lolly but it usually refers to a lollipop (any confectionary on a stick like chocolate, sweets/candy/whatever you want to call it). This also true for what the Americans know as "Ice pops", we have them but we call them "Ice Lollies". We actually do have Ice pops but they are a certain type of Ice lolly that doesn't have a stick. Either way the point is, is that typically the word lolly refers to confectionary on a stick

Hey, Peter. It's actually pronounced differently when you're referencing the candy vs underage anime girls. Loli comes from "lolicon" (it's like LUHL-LEE) while "lolli" is from "lollipop" and sounds more like (LAHL-LEE) Also, we do distinguish between candies, it's just you don't bother to do so in every day conversation. That's pretty much how American English works in general. We COULD say something, but why bother when everyone around you is already aware of what you're talkin' about. We only distinguish when the distinction is necessary.
