My barber and I had a bad falling out about 2 years ago and I’ve been cutting my hair ever since. It took me about a year to get it right, but when I tell you learning to give my own self a haircut has been one of the most liberating experiences of my life! Don’t get me wrong, I’m no cosmetologist so although I do sometimes still make mistakes, I wear them with pride because I’m free from the bondage of paying someone else to make me look good and feel better about myself. I graduated college last year and I am blessed to say that I am totally self sufficient. I know how to cook, I know how to clean, I know how to cut my own hair, and I know how to make my own money. But I will never frown upon those who haven’t made it there yet because I understand that although people placed themselves in harms way by traveling to barbershops and salons during a global pandemic, the world is so screwed up and people are under so much stress right now that risking everything to just feel better about yourself might be the difference living to fight another day or choosing to take yourself out. It seems counterintuitive but it probably feels better to be unemployed with your haircut than it does being unemployed without it! To the barbershop owner: Yeah he could get caught and be cited by the government for operating illegally, but what if he never does? He has to feed his family regardless and bills are due regardless! Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves 😉

I literally just told this to my grandmother like a half hour ago! Everything in this country is based on money! You have it and you can do whatever you want! It’s very expensive to be poor in this country. It just baffling me how many people still pay cash for things or swipe their debit cards to make purchases when even the most basic of credit cards rewards you a percentage of every single purchase!

Hairstylist in Florida here we are taking extreme precautions here and if you are sick don’t come if you don’t feel safe don’t come we have split the staff in half so there’s only 6 stylists at a time with 10 ft between chairs disposable capes everyone wears a mask we can’t leave the chair without sanitizing everything. But we are begging people protect themselves and wear a mask DONT COME IF YOU FEEL SICK. But it’s a risk we are putting ourselves at risk because we love our jobs and we want things to go back to normal but we are not ignorant to this. But good lord the amount of people in Florida that feel untouchable by this blow my mind we are actually arguing with people about wearing masks in the salon... we don’t owe you a haircut we want to be here for our community protect us so we can be here for you! Ok so the issue shouldn’t just be a choice between working and food。this would end faster if the government made sure everyone had access to food and to freeze mortgages and rent

Don’t go to the barbershop, but you can go to Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, and any department store with thousands of people. Doesn’t make sense.
