It is a reference to cube escape collection. The position of the cubes is the same as the position of the symbols corresponding to each level.

The time is 8:35, not 9:35. As for the question, "25 to 9" is a way of saying 8:35. It is like saying "quarter to 10" when the time is 9:45.

As far as I know, you don't have to reset. But I think you have to finish the story first.
