Sick build. I've been seeing them working on an R8 @ their shop for months. I hear the v-10 is a beast BEFORE the turbo! And for those of you who think they can't afford this speed, pony up about $11k for a brand new Honda CBR 1000RR and BAM!!- you got a naturally aspirated rocket that welcomes curves. BTW-the road is I-485 in Charlotte

@yazan2911 Actually no you see... This car was built with handling in mind. And what I want to know is, how doubling the HP affected the thing at which this car was good. That is going through turns fast. If you want a drag racer just take any old american car that can't turn good anyway (maybe excluding Corvettes and GT40) Put huge engine there and Viola!

@luca3187 Worng! The R8 is produced in Neckarsulm and so its engine. The Gallardo (and its engine) is produced in Sant Agata.

@ktwei i highly doubt the engine is built to withstand only 520bhp, manufacturers design engines in ferraris and lambos etc. to withstand alot more bhp and torque than they will ever produce stock to increase durability and reduce wear, the corvette's ls2 V8 was designed to withstand up to 1500bhp but stock they only produce just over 600.

I have never seen ANY LS2 make over 600hp stock. You sir are a liar. The LS2 was never designed to handle 1500hp. It has been built to handle that power, but lots of modification was needed.

cant remember where i got the figures from for the engine but i was merely just making a point that high performance engines can withstand alot more power than the actually make from the factory. Basically you have a choice... Cheap Fast Reliable you can only have 2, A high performance car needs to be fast and reliable or no-one would buy it if it broke down all the time, hence why they cost so much.

A factory stock LS2 makes about 400hp. It can make 600hp, but it still needs mods. A stock block LS can handle about 800hp.
