Well, go to an Audi Store in Germany, order an R8 V10, pick it up at the factory, drive to the MTM service center down the street from the factory, get the limiter disabled, go on the Autobahn, drive ~200 mph, hit the brakes because you need to slow down. Just works, nothing new. They were only going 213, the car is built to take that. It's just a single stop, the brakes are built to take the punishment by a 580 hp engine on a race track...

+chris hicks If you turn the boost down so it's running 'only' 1000hp, that drivetrain will last longer than we'll be able to buy fuel for. Interior is still all R8 so it's nice, still has air-con and a stereo and looks to be either stock suspension or non-drag oriented aftermarket, which combined with the semi-slicks and excellent brakes means even with the extra weight from the engine it'd go around a track very well. I don't see how it's a waste on something like this. The AMS and T1 GTRs are very nice, but at the end of the day they're built to go fast in a straight line. This thing looks like it's just built to go fast. Hell, because it looks like a stock R8 it doesn't even attract that much attention. Drive this next to a stock aventador and the cop certainly won't be pulling you over.

This here has a little bit of rubber at the start of the hit-area but the rest is just asphalt like any highway (isch, cause landing strip). So this has a lot more street appeal. Otoh, the only guys that seem to show up here are people with deep pockets and no wrenching skills in packaged cars, basically representing the small tuner companies like UGR, AMS, Heffner and so on. I like Drag Week events a whole lot more. Those people seems to be a lot more can-do people and not pays-people-who-can-do people. Of cause some of them are also "pay drivers" but most can fix a lot on their own cars and they still bought the engines somewhere in many cases. DW still seems a lot more cozy and friendly though, where these roll races are more bank statement flashing with Pro company backing.
