One of my most underrated books is A Crown For Cold Silver and the rest of the Crimson Empire trilogy by Alex Marshall. I personally think it should be just as loved as Gideon the Ninth. Crimson Empire is genuinely hilarious and super duper queer and fun, with a really dark world.

Aww man I tried that one a couple of years ago! I dnf-ed the second book, but I do agree with you that it's underhyped because while it wasn't to my tastes quite enough, I think a LOT of fantasy readers would really enjoy it!

I’m not a huge romantasy reader because I don’t think a lot of it is written very well, but after seeing you talk about Reign & Ruin a few times I’m going to try it soon & I’m super excited! Also planning to pick up Age of Myth but probably not until 2025 at this point lol.

The Spear Cuts Through Water by Simon Jimenez is my pick for extremely underrated fantasy. One the best books I've ever read. Awesome video and thanks for the recommendations.

Yaaas, Legends of the First Empire, The Ending Fire, and The Burning Kingdoms!!! Speaking of which I can't wait for the Lotus Empire. I need to get on my reread of the Oleander Sword already. Totally agree Faebound is mid in comparison to the Ending Fire. Also, seconded Peace and Turmoil is so good I need book 2 STAT

Ugh yes Ending Fire needs so much more love! And I can't believe I still haven't read the Foz Meadows and Stephen Aryan series yet oops An underrated gem that I think you'd have a blast with is Spark of the Divine by Louise Holland!

Whoa. I haven't heard anyone talk about Starless 👀 JC's work at large (kushiel's excluded) are generally underhyped and unknown. Everything that she writes are very distinct from eqh other so sometimes that hurts, when you try something new from her expecting kushiel's 2.0 when they're not
