I love your story, reminds me of my journey in nursing. You actually find there's very few nurses who come into the profession fresh from Matric who actually wanted to be nurses. Most of us come into it having gone through some disappointments. Once we realize the value of this profession, then we fight tooth and nail to pull through to the end because the course will challenge you more than you imagined. I love how articulately tackle every topic, you're a great speaker.

Your story is quite similar to my story but then through out the struggle God took me Where I thought I was weak. I would also like to add and say to all young stars, follow your heart(subconcious) and you will never go wrong.

Umuhle Mtase ❤❤ this hit home for me because when I matriculated in 2009 with an H I didn't want to go back to school to rewrite but so I had no choice than to go college and do the Ns I first did Business management until I got my diploma. I still went back and did engineering because become at work they're the most recognised Artisans with Ns in the field and recently got permanent position BUT all in all I want nursing which is y am going to rewrite to follow my dreams one day... so going to the college actually is good in any field just that we prefer universities which are also good.... girl u are inspiring my mentality was exactly like urz after passing my matric i guess we have to let God to take control ....i got my national diploma this year in biomedical technology and as i said m doing my intertionship preparing for boared exam what is happening in nursing i think its also whats happening in my course exactly i dont regret going to VUT studying this course after what i saw at the work place ... some pple had BSC degrees from top universities of SA they wanted to become Med lab technogist but they were not allowed to write boared exam even though they have had BSC in biological sciences ,medical microbiology etc ...some went back to the technickons to study biomed bcs their bsc ddnt work for them ....others were hired as lad med technicians not technologist. my lab mangers are coming where m coming from they started with N diploma just like me adas are still in that qualification but holding high positions ....m doing practicals with somes students who want to become scientist ,who did BSCs and they teach us the same thing n worse we get training from people who wnt to technickons.....mostly what i like is even if i want to become scientist i can i just have to upgrade ha nyane for research .

I have a feeling even in other industries it's like that, but nobody tells us it's not must for everyone to have a degree to make it in any field. Also we've grown to know N Dip to be undermined, but now we are changing the game!

Hi Zee, thank you so much for the great content. I have two Questions *is it true that when you studying in college with no Bursary they pay you for your practical working hours? *now let's say you finish you general nursing Qualification in college, epaulettes with no bars right, where can you continue studying for your specialties like pych, midwife and how long will it take, won't they expect you to study from 1st year again?
@iamnursezee3 жыл бұрын
They don't pay you for your hours, those hours are part of a requirement by SANC for you to be declared a qualified Nurse. You'll be able to continue studying, each qualification takes 1 year.

I am currently doing my 4th year in UJ, using the Gauteng Department of Health Nursing Bursary, there is no stipend. It covers everything although. If you apply in a college, the fees there are lower so you are able to get a stipend from what is left over.

How to become a nurse anesthetic in SA.....video bo please!....
@iamnursezee4 жыл бұрын
Please note EVERYTHING requires research and through planning, I am pretty much aware of requested videos(which are many) but will only be doing them when I've gathered much information on whatever topic was required. But if you are in a hurry, you can also research for yourself on various universities website and the South African Nursing Counsel website, those are the resources I use to gather information. All the best.
@sihlemakabeni59784 жыл бұрын
Hi, l’m a scrub nurse and can give you a bit information. In SA we don’t really have a speciality in anesthesia for nursing however if you work in a operating theatre and you are an enrolled nurse or a registered nurse you may work in anesthesia assiting the anesthetic doctor. However there is a course you could do in the private offered by one of our private hospital schools.

Thank you Sihle
@ingridmohammed214 жыл бұрын
Hi, there! I agree with my theatre colleague. I’m not aware of current anesthetic programs for nurses, but you may want to consider doing Masters in Periop Nursing Science and persue it from that angle. Also as Zee says, do research on it. Bless
