I didn’t even recognize this album as underoath because it is 100% different than their other albums. But aside from what they wanted to do and how Spencer wanted to sing the song. You can’t scream forever. That shit kills your voice. A lot of bands that are heavy on the screaming tend to go lighter sometimes also just for a change on the vocals. I think it’s an amazing album coming from a very dark place.

This album has been a major letdown, in the past I’ve always said “underoath simply CANT make a bad album” and here we have the example, not that this album is necessarily “bad” but if it’s not bad then it’s pretty close to it..

I’m surprised know one has realized this. One of Spencer Chamberlains favorite artist are Radio Head, this song sounds very similar to a track called “Optimistic “ on their Kid A album. Definitely can see/hear the inspiration!

These two videos (ihateit and Bloodlust) Share the main theme the whole album circles around, which is the internal battle the writers went through and felt like. The girl represents the innocence and purity of a christian band in a very toxic environment, i feel like Aron and Spencer are the consciousness of the girl (Old Underoath band), or at least some aspects of it. when you see Aron picking her up at the beginning of "ihateit" and dragging her inside the club its like she's being drawn to something clearly without any motivation, like she doesn't want to be part of it, but once being inside of the club the other side of her consciousness (spencer) talks her into doing something she'll never come back from.--- Like a blood pact, something unbreakable, probably representing a bad decision that the writer felt that could never be forgiven or he felt that broke him so hard he could never recover (which is most of the theme of the songs on this album) ---- So. The guys with hoodies are the paranoia, rumors, stares, criticisms, that ultimately get the angel lady trapped, and killed, (again, no recover from that, no salvation) gosh i feel so much guilty vibes in these vids. but there's good music. Anyway I sell churros 🙂

Band is getting some huge shows and bills. Really proud of them and honestly they deserve the recognition. Anyone that calls them sell outs or Nickelback seriously has zero clue and are absolute idiots. I’ve been a fan since 2006 and to see them get respect from massive bands is awesome. New album might have gone a little more alternative but it still retains classic U0 sound.

I had to wait 10 years to see this band. Finally got to see them at Rock Usa in Wisconsin last year and their set got cut short because of weather. They tried kicking them off stage mid song and Spencer fought with the stage crew to finish the song. I will finally be able to see a full underoath set on the 25th of this month in Madison. I will always be a fan. They make the best music 🤘

I do enjoy their heavier stuff more, but underoath has always been a band that has released an album in a pretty pivotal moment in my personal life so different styles aren't as important as the lyrics to resonate with me.
