Just saw them play this live in Seattle without having heard it before and was really into it. Studio version is awesome too. Spencer kept asking if people would come out if they came back on tour. The crowd was really lame but that’s Seattle. First time I’ve seen them live and I’ve been a fan since 04.

As a long time fan of this band I can understand the disappointment. That being said, Spencer recently gave an interview where he explains they deliberately released this song first to throw off the fans and ruffle some feathers. But he further goes on to say that this song doesn’t represent the sound of the new album and it’s kind of just a one-off experimental piece. FWIW

Took me a few listens because I was not expecting this. Sounded more like one of the songs you’re featured on than a true Underoath song… I think the last time I felt this way was when you dropped “Unsound”. I am totally here for this. The intro, the vocals, the drums… feels like the MuteMath, Underoath and (newer) Korn collaboration that I never knew I needed. Can’t wait to hear more!
