Great review of the hammock quilt. Glad you found the right fit. The hike looked like it was enjoyable. Hope you find land soon for a cabin build and homestead start. ENJOY

Thanks MrRDFORD. Hike was very enjoyable, short with a lot of scenic change. Homestead is just a matter of time... Hopefully sooner rather than later. Appreciate your support, all the best to you.

Great video thanks for posting! I just purchased this underquilt and am trying it on my Hennessy this weekend. It’s going down to 22 F tonight which is colder than I would like but we’ll see how it goes!

Donald Stopp so it's been a year, how did it go? Are you still happy with the underquilt matched with the hennassy?
@donaldstopp57812 жыл бұрын
@@shyamlynn243 yes I’m happy with it. It went down to 20 F and I stayed warm and cozy. In fact I was so warm I had to hang an arm and shoulder out into the night air for a while. Besides the under quilt I had a sleeping bag an an antique king sized down comforter around me that is about 5 inches thick when it’s fluffed out that really made it warm.

I like the winter hammock.

Ignoring the mistake so many make with the Hennessy consider using tarp clamps with bungee cord to help keep the under quilt widened. If one can determine a standard position for the tarp clamps then one can add snaps with pull tabs to the under quilt or sow them in place if wanted.

Cool. Thanks for the follow up from the original One Tigris review. Did you know they have your review of the double hammock underquilt linked to Amazon?

What size if your Hennessy Hammock? I'm thinking about getting the XL but I'm not sure if this underquilt will fit it.

I realize that this is an older video but did not see any follow up video on setting up this underquilt. I purchased one and found an easy quick way to get those sides and ends way up high and also seal off the ends. Now on your Hennessy the side pull outs will cause the middle to dip down but the ends will be up high and snug enough to keep heat in and drafts out. I did a video on exactly what worked for me. I will leave a link for you to have a look if you are still interested. kzbin.info/www/bejne/maaud2tqo9uKiK8

The only thing I found lacking on the quilt was the ends. I felt that they should have been as high as the main part of the hammock like the sides were.
@MrBalas34 жыл бұрын
Now that you taken the underquilt into colder temperatures have you found it to still be warm enough as well as with your adjustments were you able to keep it higher up the sides on your hammock?

The master of the hammock, SHUG, has many youtube videos up that introduce and discuss many aspects of hammock selection, use and pros/cons. I recommend his channel for the humorous way he presents his valuable information...All secure in sector 7! I went with a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC with a winter and screen topcover, an underquilt by UGQ, their Zeppelin model all protected by a Warbonnet Superfly. I have no complaints at this time!

Thanks so much for doing this review! Very thorough, and exactly what I needed to hear. I’m going to buy the OneTigris Double. Quick question: Do you feel like a top quilt is necessary? I was using my sleeping bag last month, but it takes up so much room in packing. I don't plan on camping in the winter.
@offgridwarrior6 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, I don't believe a top quilt is necessary if you have a decent -0 degree rated sleeping bag with hood. Honestly I've done multiple seasons of Winter/snow hammock camping and never felt like I needed a top quilt. Usually I'm wearing fleece, down snow jacket and balaclava when temps are freezing. Good luck.
