Build a peeling rack on a slight angle. So you can have different diameter logs at a little above waist height. If you're blade is chipping on knots it's cheap steel. Try using a straight handle drawknife. I converted after 30 years of using those offset type. Lock your elbows and use your back and legs for a long even stroke.

How did people build log cabins without that fancy schriber with spirit leveling tool.. serious question, cause I'm gonna build a fire place outside with logs and these schribers with leveling bubbles are expensive as hell 😅

I understood what you were saying about the KZbin "experience". I get tired of the guys that have to make each episode title too grabby, to me it's too fake. As content goes, I've always liked your videos, they were more real than some others are. Grew up in the country and love the outdoors. Keep up the good work! Oh yeah, I completely understand about the MILK...love it.

Thank you for the great comment and for hanging out tonight. I do appreciate comments like this, genuine. When you start to over-focus on the "views" and "likes" you can loose sight of what actually matters... I did for a short period a few years back. Not again. All the best to you.

Man, I have skipped over this video for 5 years (I re-binge watch this channel about once a year) because I thought I already knew the winner. I would have watched it sooner if the title had simply added "TiC" to the beginning (i.e. "TiC ~ Stihl vs Husqvarna chainsaw BATTLE & GIVEAWAY!")

I really like the scribe method. Yes I agree it does make more time but you save having to stuff the cracks full of moss or whatever elce you use. All I would so after placing the log is caulk it with a transparent cylacone and seal it up

I needed a unit kzbin.infoUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y that I could store in my home when I wasn't running, so it being light and running on propane were key requirements. I can store the propane tank/bottle outside yet store the generator in my home when it's not in use as I will never put any gas in the engine. It is so light, and on echo mode, which I expect is how it will be used most of the time, it is pretty darned quiet (certainly compared to all the generators I hear in my neighborhood after each power outage). Many of the previous reviews had me concerned that it would be difficult to start on propane, but I have to say, I had absolutely no problem at all. I primed it first using the choke...3 pulls, heard the engine want to start, flipped it to propane, and one more pull and she started. I ran it for 2 hours the first time and plugged it in my fridge. And when I was done, I put the propane tank away and carried the generator to my basement for next time.I could not be happier.

Howzit bru...I'm just staring my build in SA where we can't get sonotubes etc...I've found a work around, but struggling to find info on what width and depth is optimal for a post beam cabin. I see there are 12 and 16 inch options online in the States 4 foot long. What did you base your 12 inch choice on? And how important is depth? @willbraswell7425 below mentioned adding circular rebar cages within the form. But would this be necessary in a non seismic area. Thanks in advance
