Underrated Pentatonic Soloing Advice

I'm using G as the root because that's the key of the tune. Do you notice how when I play G it feels complete? It's an Em pentatonic scale, but because of the harmony, G is the root. I really love your videos man, been learning a lot and hopefully I'll be able to take the course sometime. I have a question though: you say to make sure to memorize where the roots are but I don't know why that would help. Do you go to the root first?

Here’s how to use all 12 notes within each of the 5 CAGED shapes. First identify 1-3-5-b7 which are the 4 chord tones in a Dominant 7 chord, and the SAFEST NOTES TO LAND ON. Then identify b3-4-b5-6-2 IN THAT ORDER OF IMPORTANCE, and always go UP from b3 into 3 (a chord tone, and never the reverse). Those notes represent Mixolydian + b3/b5 from the Blues scale. Finally b2-b6-7 can be used (as passing tones) in chromatic lines that RESOLVE! - Now when you play over a Blues with 3 Dominant 7 chords, always be identifying both the LETTER NAME and INTERVAL NUMBER of the note that you’re playing. EACH CHORD GETS ITS OWN SCALE, and the notes are analyzed according to the chord that they are being played over (if the notes are 4-b5-5 over the I chord, they will be 1-b2-2 when played over the IV chord). If you identify everything that you play by NUMBER then you will be able to play that same idea in other positions as well as in other keys. - This is the key to fretboard mastery and always knowing EXACTLY what you are doing. -

Eminor is the relative minor of the Gmajor scale. They share all the same notes.
