I mean not all, but majority. A lot of songs like South Bound Sahrez and Boogie With Stu, with countless others off of coda being played by someone from the Rolling stones. Like I said majority were by him, I'm just saying that not all. One of the greatest musicians alive

John Paul Jones plays organ, bass, and piano on this one. Yes, Jimmy Page also layers his guitars on many songs which makes it interesting to watch the live versions to see which part he plays where. You're sounding good! 🙂

I started high school in 1969 and from there the music just kept getting better and better. Not just rock either, the Motown sound was peaking at the same time and there was...........Disco. But, yeah, hearing a new Led Zeppelin song every few weeks for the entirety of my high school years was fantastic. There's still good music being made today but not like it was through the 60's and 70's. One of the best things about being young in that day!

In my early zeppelin days, like 30 years ago, No Quarter was a song that I didn't skip but I didn't care too much for it. But every year that's gone by since I love it more and more. My alltime fav track is still For Your Life but No Quarter is damn close.

Not the typical Zeppelin tune, but is there such a thing? All their songs can be seen as individual masterpieces. That's why they are who they are.

regarding john paul jones , robert plant used to say it was like having an orchestra on stage with them. He provides the flute on stairway to heaven using his keyboard , he provides the organ on for example your time is gonna come and thankyou , he provides the mandolin on going to california , thats the way and battle of evermore. Think about dazed and confused - the iconic opening base line is JPJ. during live performances he often plays keyboard with his hands and bass pedals with his feet, playing two different sections at the same time. You can't overstate how important he is , he and john Bonham are like the warp and the weft of a fabric and then jimmy Page and Robert Plant are like the texture, pattern and colour . The best way to learn about the instruments is to watch some of the live performances so you can see who is doing what. You might start with how many more times the Danmark Radio recording - this was their first performances and you can see exactly who is doing what. you will be able to seperate out the instruments. similarly from1975 the earls court performance of going to california and thats the way you can see jpj playing mandolin with bass pedals in front of his feet and jimmy page on guitar. Try one of the blues songs from royal Albert Hall - i can't quit you baby - you will be able to see how the four play of each other. I know moby dick wasn't your favourite but if you take the time to watch the live version , even if you don't react to it, that is the best way to understand John Bonham's drumming techniques. Once you have got hold of the individual instruments from watching live performances you will be able to pick them out on the recorded versions. John Paul jones is also key to the composition process especially on tracks where the organ or key board are at the forefront including no quarter. keep going plenty more outstanding music to come.

Of course, for studio recordings, on certain songs (like this one) you can find several guitars or several keyboards, just as Robert Plant's voice is sometimes doubled or more to form a choir, it's the mix, this is the job of the sound engineer. On stage live it's different. Very happy to see a young guy enjoying the work of Led Zeppelin. Proof that their music is now part of the world's musical heritage.

Great song, enjoyed your reaction. You might really enjoy watching a live version, perhaps from their 1975 Earl's Court concert. Lots of improv from Jones and Page, which doubled the length of the song. 🔥

About time Reaction videos go beyond Zepps headline songs and find the reeeeaaally good stuff. Btw, if you catch yourself listening to this song over and over again for the rest of your life, join the Club 😉 other "sleepers" I recommend are Tea for One, Battle of Evermore, How Many More Times, I'm Gonna Crawl, The Lemon Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, The Rain Song, Tangerine, That's the Way, Travelling Riverside Blues, Four Sticks (to name a few)

Audio sounds great. This has always been one of my favorite Zeppelin pieces. It is soooo moody that I have to be in the right mood to listen to it but everything about it ... JPJ on keys setting the overall mood, Jimmy on the various guitar parts (I think of the main riff as one of the greatest rock guitar riffs), Bonzo's work on drums, and Plant's lyrics (so dramatic and interesting). Regarding Jones, he never received sufficient credit for his contribution from media. He plays everything and always with great feeling. You'll hear him most often on bass (his bass work is what got me listening to bass guitar), keys, mandolin. I'm not sure he played electric guitar on anything so I think it is safe to assume all electric guitar parts are Jimmy Page. Acoustic guitar is usually Jimmy, too, though I think Jones and Plant occasionally played acoustic. Harmonica is Plant (amazing skills on harmonica. Always wished he played more.).

Your voice seemed slightly muffled and lower volume than before. I believe this is the 7th song and it's the next to last song on this album. That was a good analogy comparing it to Pink Floyd Echos. Led Zep is so versatile. Thanks for acknowledging John Paul Jones as he gave this song the psychedelic vibe. The Ocean is the last song and it's back to pure rock and is a toe tapper. Looking forward to the next 2 albums by LZ.

Hello JMBOY, For this song John Paul Jones plays the electric piano (normally FENDER RHODES PIANO) and also the classical piano, he plays the basses with a foot keyboard. Although the most discreet of the band, the least eccentric, he has a great musical culture in terms of orchestral arrangements, in addition he is a multi-instrumentalist.
