What do u do if u sill have pto bit on and is it easy to take pto on and of ?

From memory, it's essential that the PTO is removed to allow the belt to pass over the pulley on the gearbox. The prongs on the PTO would block it if the PTO is left in place. Removal of PTO is awkward more than super difficult. It's awkward because one needs to undo the nut and bolt from on top and from underneath - i.e. it's necessary to have a spanner holding the nut on the underside while undoing the bolts surrounding the PTO from on top. I used a socket wrench with an extension for the bolts around the PTO, and reached under and groped around with a spanner to find the nut. It's easier and faster if there are two people, and one can hold the spanner from below. It was a nuisance for one person so I left mine off as I don't use it.

@@madmancops9251 I don't see why age should be an obstacle. As long as you take suitable safety precautions to ensure nothing can fall on you, you'll soon find out whether you can complete the task alone.
