Love the Talent type system Ordeal has. Toxic is probably the one I am interested in the most, I can imagine a Kimyo whose talent allows them to exude mist that induces either fear or insanity for prolonged periods in there(sort of like fear gas).

Some of these talent categories seem like they should just be put together. Shift, state, and Hide seem to be the same thing with only slight variations like activation conditions. Even Kinesis can get thrown in there since hide forms can have protrusions too. Still a fun power system though

That’s the thing though, just cause all the types could have Talents that function similarly to other types doesn’t always mean at their core or how they function on a base level will apply to other types. Which is why a separate category is needed, but that’s also why dual types can exist as they accentuate the Talent even more.

We don't know it yet. We don't really know all the details of his Talent either. It could be Elemental due to the four corner winds or Control based on how he uses the crows, possibly both.

She would most likely have more than one Talent, as her original one seemed to be able to read minds and memories, but she also had a spider shift oriented Talent. so that one could be a shift type.

Well Shift used to be my favourite, but I don't want a Talent that will kill me. Hide takes the Number 1 spot for me. Granted I still have to exchange something (Since Tevin's Hides use his oxygen or blood.) But the cost won't kill me but, if I had to chose which animals will represent my Hide. It would be a Wolf, Bat and King Cobra. State has gotten some of my curiosity. I would probably have a Shadow/Phantom state. When partially activated the user can walk through Shadows and store things within the Shadows. When fully activated the user becomes a living breathing Shadow. But I'm lost on the type powers a full transformation would give.

Technically Shift Talents don't innately kill you, Anton's just works different as he says "a Talent like this" implying there's differences between how his and others operate. With Hides you also don't technically have to exchange anything as Tevin is a specific case for that, but we see two other hide examples in the story where its not mentioned they need to use anything other than Chi to keep their hide manifested. For the shadow one i made a simple talent that lets you craft things out of your shadow, so maybe a state version of yours would let you control yours and other shadows?

@@JayTheGodTier Okay fair, then I might change my opinion on Shift Talents in the future. As for Hides true I might not have the same conditions as Tevin. But if we look at Bjorn for example, he can summon his Immortal Hide as it's own Avatar. The DRAWBACK being it leaves Bjorn utterly defenseless, so Bjorn has to compensate by having Vinter, so his not just a giant target. Meaning the drawbacks of a Hide Talent, won't be as detrimental as Shift Talent from my perspective. Oh for the Shadow/Phantom state talent idea, I did want to use control the Shadows of others. But not making weapons from Shadows, because the drawback of going a 100% Shadow/Phantom is that you would always be intangible. Hence why it's been annoying coming up with abilities this form gives.

@@projectyautja6860 That's just how Bjorn chooses to fight most of the time or in certain scenarios,; plus like he told Tevin all hide users can eventually do it, so its a drawback for his fighting style not necessarily all Hide types. And for the Shadow Idea maybe just rework it. keep the core of what you want, crap the rest and start from the ground up again.

@@KingKittanSpiral Nah it would be Control. Let’s say you can summon a Golem with your Talent. That would make it control as the Golem would be a direct manifestation of your Chi that you’re manipulating like a puppet. Whereas creation lets you use your Chi to create new physical matter.

Its core would still be control but since you’re applying it to yourself, it could be shift or hide. It really just depends on the ends and out of the talent and how it’s supposed to function.

It doesn't have to be crazy or flashy but it can be if that's what you want. People post talents all the time in the Discord, so just make it your own.

It’s void and support a dual type. It creates portals distorting space, and with those portals she can technically provide covering aid as the portals appear on the air, meaning things can be redirected from them

I've never read ordeal but I've listening to a fair amount of yt videos on it n I can't help but feel like the power system is over bloated n drawn out unnecessarily. It's doing way too much for no reason is there really a need for 72 different types of powers 🤦🏿‍♂️

You should read it to form a better opinion on it; watching videos vs reading it yourself helps the elements regarding it be understood better. You could say its’s bloated, but similar to Hunter x Hunter, there needs to be a definitive category that Talents can fall under or you’ll be left wondering why this Talent falls into a certain category when it doesn’t make sense for it to be there, but there’s no where else to put it. If there’s not enough or no types differentiating Talents then you have the DBZ effect where Ki can basically do anything, and there are no defining rules saying what it can and can’t do. By the end of the story we should have a Talent for each type, and it’s better to know now what the differences between them are, and how they function at a base level.

@JayTheGodtier I think my problem with it is that I feel it's starts too broad, in most series the powers tend to evolve n become more complex as the story goes on but with so many different categories n types there gonna start blending together n seeming kinda redundant. 1 of the categories is psychic n I'm sure there's like 2 or 3 other categories that could have just been an advanced or other application of psychic powers. u brought up HunterXHunter but even it's power system started to get congested n confused as it went on with powers that could fall into multiple categories with no real reason where why it is what it is.
