I am a young man 22 years old. By watching this video, what the woman said is really true because I’ve experienced sexual assault. Having a sexual trauma is very serious.

I was raped in my apartment during Covid. The lack of resources and the extent of my injuries was huge. The lack and inability of family and infrastructure to help me. I couldn’t prosecute because I was almost disabled. 2 and a half years out is a lifetime of ugliness, forcing myself to work, get surgery. And still there isn’t a person or hotline who can grasp it as I live it.

I have PTSD and freeze during times when I am with a man wanting sex. Just let it happen.

@@anonymous_0227 I’m sorry to hear that. I would suggest seeking some advice from someone who understands the neurophysiology of trauma, maybe a local domestic violence shelter. Freeze response and dissociation are very similar. It would be beneficial to practice yoga and short sessions of meditation. This strengthens your aware connection between body and mind which strengthens a more controlled response if you find yourself in a difficult situation. Since the freeze response is so automatic… it is like a “high jacking” of your will from within, this may strengthen a resolve in those crucial moments after an unwanted advance is initiated. It may also help to practice communication skills that allow for discussions around what your boundaries and limitations are well in advance of any possible sexual contact. That is also really good for building self esteem. If you are with someone who has no interest in those kinds of discussions, that is all you need to know about him/her. This person will not be a good partner for you. Best Wishes to you-

Well, if only the man wants it and you don’t, then that’s one of the reasons.

Yup I am the same I just try to stay away from men because I have no backbone and I would rather not continue to retraumatize myself.

The only thing that separates “the rapist” and “therapist” is a little space. 😂
