Thanks for the excellent info on Astro-filters? I'd like to know more how astrophotometric filters work, and which filters can you recommend? (for stardard photometry and also for temperature measurements). Thanks a lot!

Outstanding presentation! This is easily the best presentation that I've seen on the topic of astronomical filters. The presentation is very well-structured, and the speaker is also extremely knowledgeable about the topic. It is a pity that some graphs were blocked by the image of the speaker.

I enjoyed it, thanks for the content!

Excellent and informative presentation! The only complaint is the apparent need of AIC to superimpose the live shot of the speaker which, more often than not, blocks part of the slide presentation. Particularly irritating when it covers portions of a presented chart, graph, or text data.

One question, which I don't think was covered and I can't find the answer online. If the dual/tri band filters are interference type filters then how can you get more than one passband? For example if you have a Ha/Oiii filter, if it uses different layer thicknesses, (and even if they are alternated), then wouldn't one layer attenuate the the "other" signal. I hope that makes sense 🙂

If you’re gonna leave a rude comment for no reason, at least give some constructive criticism. You just look like an asshole.

Entertainment channels to the left, please. KZbin is full of them. I am surprised that the wrath of the team is not all over you. This man put his best foot forward and spent a lot of time with his presentation. I applaud Jim for his talk, his knowledge, his clear presentation, his well spent effort with this talk and his attempt to make us all better astronomers. I only reply because of something that I am saying all my professional life. Scripting a talk, which he did, doesn't necessarily make you a better speaker. I always encourage people to be themselves. If you are already a gifted speaker you can script away and you will be awesome. You can see this with many news moderators. They have facial expressions like an actor, even though they just read everything down from a prompter. If you already struggle with speaking the script doesn't necessarily pull you out.

Nodding off happens when you can’t comprehend the conversation. Get thee to a library.
