People misread Jeremiah 3 verse 8, because they don't start at Jeremiah 3 verse 1

Greetings in Christ! I agree with your view. Also, it would be good to mention that God says He has Divorced His people, but will take her back - which is against the Law (unless the Husband dies). So He does divorce, but also takes her back because the Husband died (for the Sins of the Wife), so that we may be remarried to Him who was raised from the dead. That is a truly loving Husband! Glory be to Him!

Yes God did divorce Israel but not for adultery, he divorced her for fornication Nowhere in our bibles does Paul say we can divorce for unbelief or abandonment Jesus tells us the only divorce that can free a woman is divorce for fornication

@@laidback1.0.1.2 1 Cor. 7:15. Not under bondage means that the believer isn't under bondage to that person or relationship. They aren't a slave to that. If you aren't a slave and if you aren't under bondage, you are free. Fornication is sexual sin, which includes an array of sins. Adultery, homosexuality, beastiality are examples.

@@laidback1.0.1.2 If the believer departs the unbeliever, he/she is to remain unmarried BUT if the unbeliever departs, the believer is no longer under bondage to that relationship. You have a polarity between 7:10-11 and 7:15 as they are different circumstances.

@@Thomas116-m2n Ok so let me help you In 1COR.7 Paul is dealing with fornication In verses 1 to 9 Paul is telling the unmarried how to avoid fornication In verses 10 to 24 Paul is speaking to married people dealing with fornication He tells them the lord says not to divorce but if they do, the woman should remain unmarried or reconcile He tells those married to an unbeliever not to divorce if the unbeliever is willing to stay with them He says if the unbeliever wants to leave, let them leave you are not under bondage. Why? Because they are divorcing for fornication committed by the wife

Jesus, Paul and Moses tell us divorce is for fornication not adultery God didn't divorce Israel for adultery People get divorced for different reasons but only divorce for fornication can free a woman
