Interesting I would imagine the moment a power pack detected a short it would effectively trip all the external power and internal interconnects. 🤔 The internal discharging of a pack is logical. Theone area of concern for most boating folks is lightening strikes and protecting their electronics. Im glad to see they test for G forces and destructive harmonics. I would be interested in what his thoughts are on safer battery chemistries formats and technologies. Here in the uk a companies gone into production with a solid state lithium manganese foil cells. Second gen Na ion cells will increasingly overlap With Li Fe phosphate cells. .. but be more thermally stable and capable of working over a wider environmental temp range . BTW water temperatures in some areas of the world have been regularly reaching high twenties and into the low 30⁰ C. range with air temperatures reaching 50 C .. and sand and concrete surfaces reaching temperatures hot enough to cause clinical burns. Still glad you did this and hope you look in on the latest Windelo Second Star heading for your big boat show at Annapolis. Theres also a S African guy whose lookingat building an Aluminium Catamaran with hybrid or electrical power. Meantime the BC Canadian logging truck guys from Edison motors paid a visit to a uk Truck show and saw The AEM motors group they canstack 4 together to produce over 1200hp they met up with Scania who have to their own 400hp EMotor unit they have tested on hybrid trucks and an insane 3 way powered double engined 50+ knot patrol craft .. subsequently they intend to use Scania motors in their Topsy logging truck generators. The guy who reviewed that has bought a Scania truck 🚛 and is planning on importing them to the States. They use the same motor generator for ships and trucks.

Hey thanks for your comment, Clive. I'll be putting out another video of their full factory tour, which will also have a short interview with one of their cell providers Amprius, which uses silicon anode cells nearly doubling the watt hours per kg. And Edison is a cool company, love what they're doing!
