Greatly explained, will definitely help with maturita exam. Why electrotechnicians are required to know everything about plane navigation is beyond me tho...

@Emiliano Johan How is that related to anything ?

Thanks. Would love to see how this works in a glass cockpit. There is so much I don't understand about landings, but would love to learn.

The marker beacons are pretty much toast now. What it means is that you are assumed to have a GPS to give you situational awareness while flying the ILS.
@MichaelShaw_vk2hms2 жыл бұрын
The use of DME co-located with the Glide Slope transmitter replaces the marker beacon.

can you explain why does the modulation depth of LOC equal 20% while the modulation depth of GP equals 40%? what's the difference? why does the modulation depth of GP not equal 20%?
@pauldenisowski4 жыл бұрын
The reason for different depths of modulation for localizer (20%) and glideslope (40%) would appear to be historical: I could not find a modern reference (or person) who could provide an answer as to why they are different.

Good presentation. I would only suggest that the use of blue and yellow colours on the presentation be inverted as historically blue represents 150Hz dominance (fly left/up) and yellow represents 90 Hz dominance (fly right/down). The shading also represents the darker colour - blue.

The video is distorted on my computer but not on my tablet. Other videos from KZbin are not distorted on this computer.

Very odd -- I record everything the same way, so maybe a KZbin transcoding issue?
