Stjepan from 10 Videos ago: I hate when my opponents play instantly Stjepan from today: I hope my opponent plays quickly and makes mistakes that way Now that's progress right there

35:15 couldn't you just play Kf7 followed by Rh8? I don't see how that doesn't protect h4.

Once he decides there's no line for him, he literally can't see the alternatives that save his position and he just stops looking.

Rd8 on Be8 @40:05 and it's fine, still worse but not lost immediately

I'm getting the sense that Caro-Kann may not be the most solid opening. You have to constantly worry about sacrfices on e6, f7 - not to mention the Ne5-g4 hiccup that comes from nowhere in this specific variation.

Over a long time both players played well and the game was equal. At the end White was the better one, so it was a deserved win. Life goes on🙂

There wasn’t bishop e8, couldn’t understand in the game why you were afraid from this, analysis’ after confirmed my thought. Tough game, think maybe edit your videos.. i think they will attract larger audience

Larger audience but I personally believe that this type of video is targetted at a small/niche audience. I personally like this gentleman's videos because it's purely solid chess that you can relax and watch and potentially learn from. Not many channels do that so it's nice to have some that do. I believe that editing too much wouldn't help.

Is there a book that goes into detail of all these caro sidelines? The two that I have don’t mention the Karpov or the Gorgoninzo.

It doesn't mention the Gorgoninzo because it's spelled Gurgenidze

This is why I’m going off the Caro-Khan; because if white plays correctly you very rarely get any sort of an attacking chance.

Yeah. I get outplayed in games like this every now and then. As Black, I seem to be doing all the right things, and suddenly my position is ugly, lifeless and I eventually lose. Maybe I should try the Gurgenidze...

I think you played a perfect high quality game, I couldn't dream of thinking so many moves and variations! I think the only mistake was resigning a little too early. Your opponent surely sighed relief at your resignation.

I would like to see young play a little more seriously and less joking around. Be so lucky you don’t have 25x7 nerve pain from a T8-9 Tarlov Cyst nerve compression. It’s hell and chess is just a silly game.
