I have a Contrabass Ophiclide. Oftentimes Verdi would change that out w/ a Tuba or the Cimbasso which is actually an Upright Valve Trombone

Are you talking of the semi modern cimbasso invented in the mid 1800s? The ones folded like a small euphonium or tuba. Since the modern cimbasso like the ones you see in modern orchesras was not designed untill the 1950-60s? I know there is the: Early Cimbasso "bass horn/upright serpent", What I like to call the "semi modern" cimbassos from the 1800s, And the modern giant orchestral cimbassos.

@@instrumentalheadquarters7062 Yes. It's an Upright Valve Trombone. Juan Tizol played the Valve Trombone so it's really Iconic.
