Congratulations for your video. Very well explained. It is difficult to find so good and professional plasticity explanations in internet. I’ve found out that the p-q diagram is very useful to visualize pressure dependency and to progress to Drucker-Prager models for example with tension-compression asymmetries. We are using more and more pressure dependent plastic models for metals in car crash finite element simulations. We need pressure dependent models to build up accurate fracture models.

Thank you for this excellent video! in 11:31, the derivative of deviatoric stress with respect to stress tensor is the identity matrix? isn't it (2/3)identity?

thanks a lot for the vedio! But in 13:08, it should be subtract sign in stead of add sign in the maternal

Hi, the equation of the linear hardening (time 2:44) does not match with the figure; the intercept of the line is less than sigma y.

Please note that in the formula plastic strain is used while in the curve horizontal axis shows total strain.

@ 7.21 Why we are calculating the effective plastic strain rate tensor instead of effective plastic strain?

plastic deformation depends on loading history therefore the problem is solved incrementally.

Excellent Video I understand the concept of effective stress for various cases. how do you write effective stress equal to Sqrt(2/3 sigma':sigma'), any derivation is available?

2/3 can be found by this fact: In simple tension effective stress is equal to applied stress.

@@engineering_software Thank you very much, This is my long-time doubt, it is clear Now. Still, I am wondering how they introduce the factor!

@@selvamraj11 I think it was just adopted so that calculation could give test results, once without this, the results would not give what was observed in tests
