Williamsburg Place Lecture Series
The Farley Center and The Pavilion host monthly professional workshops for area providers. These cutting edge presentations feature information on addiction, ethics, dual diagnosis, co-dependency, military and addiction, eating disorders, assessment, and process disorders. Workshops are held on the 4th Friday of each month from 9:00 am -11:00 am on the campus of Williamsburg Place.
OVERVIEW
This lecture will explore professionalism in both individuals and groups while reinforcing ethical standards surrounding confidentiality and dual relationships. The expectations of respecting boundaries and the law within everyday practice will be presented with case examples.
GOALS
Learn effective professional boundaries and coping strategies for self-management.
Identify relevant considerations when professional obligations conflict or ethical uncertainties arise.
Increase personal and professional self-awareness.
Establish a set of specific ethical standards to guide one’s practice.
Gain strength in identifying core values and stressful life circumstances.
Develop cognitive and emotional skills to help manage future professional stressors and circumstances.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Hemphill’s expertise includes trauma informed care, co-occurring disorders, and healthy boundaries which will allow clinicians to recognize the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients and families. These integrative and comprehensive approaches provide the highest standard of care available anywhere in the country and will develop into policies, procedures and treatment practices.
Dr. Hemphill currently is Chief Clinical Officer at Lakeview Health and worked previously at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and at River Oaks Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a consultant at Seaside Healthcare, LLC and an adjunct faculty member at LSU Health Services Center and at Tulane University, where he earned his doctorate
