My papa had it, watching someone get so bad is heartbreaking. Watching him fade away and I was there when he was rushed to the hospital I was crying so much, there was no cure for it and that’s what hurt most he will always be remembered I love you papa❤️ and I miss u so much

I had covid in August, 2020 and was hospitalized for about 8 months, in coma 3 months. I pulled through! I was on a ventilator, feeding tube, trachea and I think a tube in my mouth, don't exactly understand what that was all about. I had lots of crazy episodes of fighting with doctors and nurses. Bottom line is, I was fighting for my life. Today I am living but with pulmonary fibrosis. I use oxygen 24/7, I need a walker, wheelchair or motor scooter to be my legs and feet and energy to get around and enjoy my life. Cleaning my home is not the same as it was for me. I must take about 10 minutes to rest and to continue to do my house work, but hey, I am doing better than before. Last year I didn't do this well. Today I did a little bit of a walk with a friend. I'd say it was a good short but extra distance than what I used to do. I was really out of breath but I was determined to get that exercise done and I did! It wasn't easy but neither is it when all I get to do is nothing! I was okay. Yes, I cough crazy as if I'm suffocating and sometimes I cough so bad, I throw up. I don't like that. Life has been different for me but I have a lot to thank God for and I have faith, hope and I believe that I will improve maybe not completely but at a certain limit in its time 🙏. I don't think doubtful and I like to focus on enjoying my life and trying to be happy. I'm disabled now, but this makes me only focus on myself and what I need, my worthiness. People stare at me, I smile and ignore. I've learned that the world isn't always a kind place. Nothing is perfect but I keep an open mind and put the focus on me because I can't change anything but me and that I can learn to do. Difficult people want to be difficult but I don't want to be like them. Besides, I don't have the energy for them. Anxiety is horrible when I have the oxygen running and a cannula up my nose. I look forward for each new thing I can do better at. Every day can be different. Maybe today is a tough day, tomorrow might be better and if I'm feeling tired, then perhaps another day will be best. There's always better days ahead too. So, I beat covid. I didn't let covid beat me. I'm at peace for miracles. I'll never walk away from me.

I am so confused. I am a 29 year woman who has never smoked. I recently got a CT scan of my chest. Everything came back normal except it said I had biapical scarring. Does this mean I have pulmonary fibrosis? I hope to God not. I have no idea what this means. My neurologist ordered it (long story why he ordered it). He seemed to think it was fine and that it might have resulted from me having bronchitis (which I had at least 3 times in my life) or something in the past. I am waiting to see a pulmonologist to look it over but it will probably be at least a month before I can get in. I do have days where it is difficult to breath. My pulse ox is normal. When I type in biapical scarring, pulmonary fibrosis instantly comes up and this is terrifying me. What does this mean? Does everyone has some level of scarring? This is exactly what the report said: "There is biapical scarring. There is no airspace consolidation. There is no pleural effusion or pneumothorax. The major central airways are patent."

Is there any permanent treatment for ILD except Lung Transplant???
@jessicah34503 жыл бұрын
There are 2 drugs, Ofev and pirfenidone (sorry if I don't spell that second one correctly). They are called anti-fibrotics and can stop the fibrosis from spreading as quickly. Unfortunately, this is a terminal illness, a lung transplant only buys you more time.
