Thank you for the presentation. This is exactly what I needed. Something simple to understand.

I still don't understand MIMO well. If it simulates something like a software steerable phased array with multiple elements, with the outcome is that the signal strength is increased by a 3 dBs or so per antenna, which is good if it works without aligning the individual antennas. So we would get at most the same throughput to a distant station that we get to a close one. But is it really possible to transmit and decode different data streams within the same spectrum? That doesn't make sense.

j7ndominica0 MIMO typically uses OFDM. I encourage you to Wikipedia or Google OFDM for a better description. Through the OFDM process, different frequency channels (data streams) are multiplexed together and then encoded through an N-point IFFT. The output of the N-point IFFT is converted to an analog signal and is used to modulate the carrier frequency. With MIMO, the modulated carrier frequency is transmitted by multiple transmitters but with different phase for each transmitter. This way, when the signals interfere with each other, they constructively interfere providing the receiver with a stronger, directed signal. At the receiving end, the signal is demodulated, converted back to a digital signal, and undergoes an N-point FFT. Then the different frequency channels (data streams) are demultiplexed and each individual channel is decoded based on the modulation scheme used by each channel.

Nice, but teach your guys not to cough, ditch the conf-join/leave beeps, and for gods sake get a real microphone and encode above a 300bps rate! Production matters
