All true and logical. I’ve pulled out a lot of hair trying to explain this to those who will not carefully shoot a three shot group and then adjust accordingly. I’ve seen many boxes of ammo burned up by people trying to chase a zero with Kentucky windage a shot at a time and then trying to adjust “backwards”. Why this is even a thing, I don’t know.

Good video,simple & to the point. While only using it to make a point,the marksmanship callout was perfect as I've heard many people over the years say their scope or gun is broke,when their mechanics,or breathing,jerking the trigger,flinching,etc. is usually the real cause of shitty grouping

That was very well explained. But what when You have 1Click @ 1/8" @ 100Yd and You want to shoot below 100Yd. Like 50Yd or even 25Yd. And also the scope can magnifies from 6-24 times. How to calculate that in different magnifications?
@walterroberts15355 ай бұрын
1ft off the end of the muzzle to 100 yds is going to impact within inches. 1/8 would simply be 8 in lieu of 4 to get an inch change. It is always best to adjust your magnification to lowest setting; 3x9 set at 3 for initial impact points. Increasing magnification doesn't change the distance between your target and the end of the muzzle; however, increasing magnification is usually necessary for longer ranges and all the same calculations on the fly have to be considered... Distance to target, wind variations, projectile drop, mirage, temperature and even with precise calculations the physical control on bone support, position, muscle relaxation, breathing and squeezing off a round become more important as range increases!

How do you calculate the clicks if you aren’t 100 yards away? Say 25 yards? Or 125 yards?

100% correct about the first group. Marksmanship issues. I have roughly a 1/4 moa but for some reason no matter the adjustments it will hit either side of the red and never center hole lol maybe should zero it at 100 and try

There is a slim chance you are not shooting through the wobble area; let the crosshairs drift through the red and squeeze one off, see if that changes anything!

@@walterroberts1535 it’s also a 22 mag and there ammo isn’t really match competition stuff and those are the results I was expecting..I got it hitting 1 inch targets at 100 yards now, I was hard on myself about never getting center, but I’m gonna give that a try i appreciate that

Question: 1" low at 100 = 4 clicks. Being the scope is 1/4" Would 1" low at 200yds be 2 clicks up? And if it was 2" low at 200 would equal 4 clicks up correct? Or is my math wrong?

If 4 clicks to move 1 inch at 100 yards 2 clicks to move 1 inch at 50 yards?
@mikecollins8241 Жыл бұрын
No, 8 clicks.. half the distance, twice the clicks.. at 200 yards 2 clicks=1".. at 400 yards each click =1 inch... best to start close (25 yards) and get centered, using big changes ( quarter to half turn, for example) then when you are hitting close to center move out to 100 yards and you should be close and can fine tune as shown..
