I filed with a lawyer for disability at 48 was awarded it at age 50 and was paid back pay and the first month check at age 50 for SSI and ssdi then after the first month the SSI was taken away and I only received the ssdi.and was told that I didn't get both only one or the other and they paid the higher of the 2.so my question is will I ever get back the SSI that I was awarded when I become 62 with my ssdi or is the SSI just gone for good since I'm drawing ssdi.and if so why was I awarded it and paid back pay and the first months check when I originally won my case and receive back pay the first months check then had it taken away

I am a client, surviving spouse, the only scenario that does not allow me to apply online forcing me to wait for an interview and a SSA Rep enters my application from an interview. I am well aware and I was most clear in the interview that that I did not qualify for SSI, my claim is for SSDI and she determined that I had to file under my spouse's earning. This SSA representative filed my claim as both SSI and SSDI. Numerous attempts to have this corrected have been ignored, I've been tossed between two representatives both saying the other must correct, another rep said it won't matter, and the ultimate insult, the Rep who made the error just hangs up on me....any suggestions? I have yet to receive a request to fill out anything.

I also looked on your website and there was nothing there about the difference between SSDI and SSI either. Did I miss it? Can you please give me a direct link?
