ill be turning 62 this November , I've been a med-heavy truck mechanic for about 40 years and its taken a toll on my body, hernias ,bulging discs, hip degeneration, I'm also a disabled veteran with PTSD, I have very good supporting med evidence at the VHA .i plan on taking my SS retirement at 62 . i have to keep working until i hit 62 to pay the bills . is it true that i cant apply for ssdi and still keep working while i wait for approval ? I was honorable discharge because a prior foot nerve injury was aggravated and caused a disability. I was 19 when I was made disabled. I managed to work full time for five years until I couldn't work anymore..I'm 56 and have been on SSI for about ten years. Could I apply for SSdi?

I was approved for SSI in June, but I received a letter for an Interview in February to determine if I'm still eligible. It's not even a year. Is this normal?

My biggest question is why is there no agency or attorneys that can help address problems and issues while already being on disability. You cannot address a problem and resolved it by contacting the local Social Security office because they are the individuals who are creating the problem and as advised there is absolutely no live agent at the Internal Revenue Agency to speak with as well as the IRS

I had a hearing yesterday. The judge only asked the ve two hypothetical questions. And on the second hypothetical she said there would be no jobs available. He also never questioned my disabilities so I’m very confused. He simply asked about my side effects from my disabilities. I was also pro se because my rep did not show up so I have no idea how to feel. The entire phone call was 40 minutes long very brief. 24 year old

I was approved for SSDI in November 2024 and received my back pay and monthly benefits right away. I thought that I had read that I would be enrolled in Medicare 24 months after being approved. I looked at my ssa yesterday and notice that I am now enrolled in Medicare and will be able to use it in June 2025, what does this mean? I am confused?
