This video is uploaded a year ago, but as someone with intermediate knowledge to redstone, this video made me understand how a 3x3 piston door works. With your explanation I was able to know how each component worked with each other and though you may have missed the explanation as to why there are 2 pieces of cut-off redstone dust in the top left corner of the build, I still learned most of the build. Thank you.

Oh idk why tho but a year later in 2021 I had to update this to make it work for me all I did was delete a block and add Redstone but this version doesn't work anymore.
@Soothsayer_Soul2 жыл бұрын
tysm for this comment, for whoever else finds this, you place a block diagonal to the up-facing observer & pop the redstone dust on that. Fixed it for me, as it was just the 1 corner piston that wouldnt power

Thank you so much. It took me years to understand but now i get it! Does this also work in bedrock?

I'm still wondering how the middle of the left three pistons work
@Gabibo3 жыл бұрын
Little late on this but it's piston ticks from the right side that go to the observer and send an update to it. I can make a follow up video for you if it helps. :)

It gets powered by the same block that the top one does, which buds it, which is strange java stuff

Question for ya. Is it possible to move the lever to a more accessible height?
@Gabibo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, just have a redstone signal flowing into that block
@SnuggyDabbins3 жыл бұрын
@@Gabibo I tried to just flow redstone to that block with the lever and it always messes with the door for some reason
@Gabibo3 жыл бұрын
Keep the same y level for the top purple wool in the thumbnail for at least 3 blocks. I think you’re powering the redstone beneath the original button spot

How to make 3x3 piston door but lever down
@Gabibo3 жыл бұрын
You can add a lever to the top where I have the button. Leading it down with redstone if you want to position it somewhere different. As long as it reaches that block it will work. edit: I gave the wrong info at the start. Took me a second to remember this build after a while of not building doors.

Does this work still for the new bedrock update on PS4?
@Gabibo4 жыл бұрын
Nick Shier I did this on Java and am unfamiliar with how the red stone on bedrock is. I figure that it would seeing as observers really shouldn’t change much but I’m not entirely sure.

How can i change the lever to a button but leave time to go through
@Gabibo3 жыл бұрын
You would have a button leading into a block with a redstone torch attached it it.
