In Bereshit/Genesis 22:18 it mentions that all the nations of the earth will be blessed through Abrahams descendants. They were to be a priesthood shining their light to all the world. Gentiles were always a part of the plan. Look at Ruth. It was both Ruth and Naomi that were redeemed.

Sean Hammer Jesus loves the people of Israel and so should we, The Bible say we should pray for Jerusalem. We should pray for Israel at all times. You can only have a love for this special people of God if you accept Jesus as LORD. If you don't know Jesus personally your heart will not be one of love for his people. So get to know Jesus Christ personally, ask Him in your heart, repent of your sin and turn to Him and He will give you a love for the Jewish people. Jesus was Jew, He didn't like that they didn't understand Who He Was and Is and Is to come. That's the reason why He cried out "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" He loves them as much as He loves us, nothing different. God has the Right to choose any one to be a nation to serve him, but this came about because Abraham had a heart for the Living God. God took him out of his people and because he trusted God, God made a covenant with Abraham and that covenant is what STANDS TODAY.

The Jews were cast assunder in the diaspora and as near as I can tell God has not regathered them. Sure, there are people calling themselves "Jews" in a place they call "Israel" but neither of them are related to the Bible. Sharda Norman Sharda I think you are functioning out of an initially accepted point of view and have never challenged your beliefs. You read scriptures like this: " 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do... " John 8:42-44 ...and just kinda shrug them off because they don't fit your preconceived view. And I am not aware of anyplace in the new testament that says we are to pray for Israel. Israel was "chosen" to bear up the Messiah. Guess what? Mission accomplished! The same Messiah gave us the new covenant and then destroyed the old order in 70ad with the destruction of the temple. All records were destroyed so there are no more tribes or Levitical priesthood. "It is finished." Anyways, don't be afraid to challenge your initially accepted views. I used to think some of the same things as you and now I don't because they didn't stand up to scrutiny. Thanks for the reply.:)

This is as important now, as when first preached ! I have been a radical for Yeshua, Messianic Jew, for 22 1/2 years ! I was 44 when I got saved- so it is never to late for us to be saved ! Speak to Jews about Yeshua, His Hebrew name, and they may receive it better. When we are born and raised Jewish, told all out lives we are Jews and don't believe in Christ, walls may go up- and because we don't see the New Testament, we don't even see the truth ! I was shocked when I was told that many Temples/ synagogues skip Isaiah 53- where it says he was wounded by our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities,...and by His stripes, we ARE healed !
