Can you show us a frequency sweep of this design? I'm curious how it plays across a range of frequency.

I haven't had a serious system in about 18 years. But back then I loved running 4 12"s in a sealed box in an SUV or van. I noticed just the choice of vehicle makes a huge difference that you run your subs in. So being as big of a bass head as I was I'd buy vehicles based on how the subs would perform in. Sealed boxes with each sub having its own space, not all open inside the box.... I got a snappy super accurate powerhouse if that makes sense. And on low frequency bass songs it sounded like a powerful thunder rumbling. That's always impressed me!! We know so much more about this stuff then we did back 20 years ago and I'm behind. But I wanna put something powerful in my 4 door f150. I have lots of room back there and can't decide if I wanna cram 4x 8's under the seat with a seat kit to raise the seat or just fold the seat up and put some 12" kicker L7's or something along them lines. I know the cab isn't big enough for 4x 12's and thats what I really prefer. So 4x 8's or 2x 12's I can't make up my mind.

@evilinside5984 I mean, they'll fit back there but domt I need enough air space in the cab for that to be efficient?
@evilinside59842 ай бұрын
@@ohmimprovement5767 -Yes, but you have plenty of airspace. Just measure the amount of space your willing to give up/use for your enclosure. Then find woofers that work great in that airspace. Many quality modern subwoofers work in very small enclosures. If your looking for great Low freq. Extension, & great sound quality, in a small sealed enclosure? The subwoofers i recommend are Stereo Integrity SQL 12" subwoofers. They perform better than JLW6s, & almost as good as JLw7s, @ a much lower price. The SQL 12"s, go down to 8Hz👀, in a 1cu. Ft net sealed enclosure!

This is kinda the same as what I have in my civic trunk. 4 12s, two in the very back of the trunk firing out at the quarter panels and two between those boxes and the box the second pair is in firing towards the back of the trunk at the two boxes firing outwards. 144 or 145 DB on 1500watts. Digs deep as hell!

You’re right is working because they are acting like port you loading up the corners keeping the pressure if you would’ve had your woofers any more farther away from the port you would have cancellation because it’s so close to part the reason why you don’t have cancellation I’ll be doing a littlelittle bit I like your work I follow you. I like what you do.

🤔 what if you pitched the end woofer on a angle ? Even a slight angle like maybe 22 degrees.. where it would be more in alignment with the top driver, but still reverb the side pressure.. may not make a difference at all, just an idea 👍

Hey MBE. On my other channel "Robert Jefferson Bass" i have a video where i demo'd a subwoofer on music in my bassment. I used a behringer USB interface, a computer, and a cheap stage microphone to record it. It doesnt sound the cleanest, but seems good enough to get an idea of what the system sounds like. I've also done some weird little experiments with mics/speakers to try to capture sound. Android phones and maybe iphone seem to have filters baked into the audio drivers... Or something. One phone i have high passes the mic input at 200hz, the other phone i have does it at 50hz. Switching recording apps doesn't seem to affect it and i didn't see any way to change this baked-in high pass without "rooting" or cracking the phone, going through tremendous effort to install some other OS etc etc. so. Then there is the problem of SPL in the car. Most microphones are going to be pushed to physical limits in that environment, so you have to come up with different ways to solve that. You can easily cover a mic with socks so the bass doesn't make it clip, but this affects the sound signature of bass slightly and of the upper frequencies a lot. You can use a full range speaker connected to an interface through the mic cable for the highs but you have to create a crossover network, and add resistance so it doesnt generate too much voltage for the interface. And then you'd have to mix everything in post-production if you don't include a mixer in your signal chain....
