Nicest guy I've ever met. He befriended me at my first NAAM 2018. He's like a walking encyclopedia Britannica. Truly awesome individual. I missed him at this year's Winter NAAM but I won't miss him in the next years. What a blessing to be in this man's circle. He's always willing to help me and I just met him. I literally have no experience in Cubase and he answers back within minutes anytime I have a question. Thanks, Greg for being so approachable and awesome! I hope to see you at NAAM 2021.

OMFG! The dragging and dropping of insert plugins into the direct offline processing is a welcome revelation to my workflow to save CPU!!! (I've spent way too much time trying to match settings from each plugin in the inserts to D.O.P and then deleting the inserts) THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!

The is the most comprehensive video I've seen on Cubase's drag n drop functionality. I would like to see drag n drop audio from the media bay/browser directly to the chord track implemented in the near future.

Awesome. Note that when you want to drag groove agent pattern pads to the arrangement you need a midi track connected to the instrument - you can't drag directly onto the groove agent instrument track.

It seems on my system that I can drag groove agent patterns to any MIDI or instrument track in the project.

Cool. Is there a way to add a mono audio sample on a stereo track while you drag and drop. By default Cubase create mono track for mono samples. This comes with unwanted behaviours when you play with panning effects (Autopan and panning vsts). So far you need to create a stereo track before and drag to that stereo track. This would be a nice feature along with converting mono channels to stereo and back.

Please add a video on making an instrument track active by pressing some key from external keyboard. Switching from one instrument to another will be very useful for live stage work. Regards.

I know that some MIDI controllers have functions that mimic the up and down arrows on the computer keyboard. If so, you could experiment with the preference Editing - Project & MixConsole and check Enable Record on Selected MIDI Track.

The more I learn about Cubase the less I use it. I mean that in a good way. Things that used to take half an hour take five minutes etc. These vids are great for your workflow.

This helps! BUT I just tried this with a couple of effects, dragging and dropping into different areas and it puts it all down the ladder and no effects can be heard (It's just a drum pattern track and a guitar audio track). I go ahead an just right click and 'add' the FX and guess what? You don't hear a single difference? This is what is so frustrating -- you watch a video and CAN'T REPLICATE because some small detail missing! I'm sure that happens to most of us!!! Thanks for showing this but it just doesn't work at all like yours does ... Cubase 10.5

If I drag MIDI from Maschine into Cubase that contains only data on 1 MIDI channel, Cubase always creates 15 empty MIDI tracks for the other channels. Is there any way to prevent this? Is there any setting to ignore empty tracks in a MIDI file?
@gregondo376
@gregondo376 5 жыл бұрын
It is probably the MIDI file being generated from Maschine that has the extra MIDI channels included within it. You may want to see if there is any other preferences or options within Maschine as Cubase will import the MIDI file as generated.

@@gregondo376 It seems like the setting 'Import Dropped File as Single Part' under MIDI file import options did the trick.

Is there a way of changing the setting of the Reverse function so that it doesn't affect all my audio on that channel and just the individual cut audio slice. I do loads of cuts and edits and click Reverse on one audio bit and it starts applying it to load of other bits...

I was literally going to email you guys about dropping in midi. Every time I drop in midi, it’s impossible to delete the instance of halion. There’s no option to remove selected track ever. That’s the only time I can’t delete a track. Does anybody know how to resolve this?

Can't you simply click on HALion Sonic SE in the instrument rack and in the name field choose No VST instrument?

Re dragging and dropping MIDI files and mulltitimbral instrument use (Halion Sonic SE) Id like the ability in Cubase when setting up a Template - to allow any Instrument track to be designated a unique MIDI PC number. They idea is to let us to set up our own multitimbral default instrument tracks for any or all MIDI PC values used in General MIDI. So I could set up a track with PC 1 as my Ivory Steinway piano plugin, another set up for OC 33 ands using a Kontakt double bass library, and tracks assigned to PC 5 and 6 set up with presets from the Lounge Lizard plugin for Rhodes and Wurlitzer. All the remaining instruments in GM would still default to using Halion SH GM instrument set. This would allow us to have GENERAL MIDI files sounding much better if we happen to own or prefer instrument libraries plugin of our own. a feature request for this exists here: www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=285&t=168468&sid=438ee7525e0564d6cac0d45f791ba171
