It is THE best derivation I ever saw on youtube. Really happy to see such a logical person in the world. otherwise, everyone just cares about memorizing. Thank you so much, bro.

Sir it is just an ingenious derivation for the formula for mode. And your explanation was even more beautiful. You clearly showed the assumptions we make before deriving the formula(that F≠R and and R,F ≠ 0), the central idea behind the derivation and then the wonderful geometric derivation along with your helpful comments and lucid explanation in the process. Loved it so much. It is really the clearest and best explanation I have come to find for the formula. Thank you so much.

Sir, your method really gave me a wonderful insight into what Mode really is. Because of your help and kindness I came up with a way to calculate mode mentally. All thanks to you. For mental calculation Mode (Z) = l + [h/R+F] R Where l = lower limit of modal class h = modal class width R is rise F is fall I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH 🙃🙃

The mode doesnt necessarily have to be in the modal class, it may happend that if the modal class has frequence 4 it is cong from 4 differen numbers lying in that class while some other class might have frequency 3 but all are just contributed by 1 number?

@thephysicistin
@thephysicistin 2 жыл бұрын
Since there is no individual frequency given in the data, the modal point inside the modal class is defined to be l+x, where, x/y=R/F. You can take it as the convention we use to assign a modal point, if needed, to the dataset.
@voyageintostars
@voyageintostars 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I just had 1 question. x/y has to be R/F... I understood that. But then why are you calculating R/R+F? Why is there that extra R in the denominator?

Sir, what is the interpretation of pt E, why it should denote modal value, and how it's additional factor to lower class will take to real modal value, and in what sense?
@thephysicistin
@thephysicistin 2 жыл бұрын
The point E is a representation of the modal point in grouped data. There is no real modal point. But if we have to assign one, this is how we do it.

maybe we can even skip on the similarity part in the manner as follows: x/y=R/F (the core idea) 》y/x=F/R 》(y/x) +1=(F/R)+1 》(y+x)/x=(F+R)/R 》h/x=(F+R)/R 》x/h=R/(F+R) Rise and Fall can be attained by basic arithmetic and hence will obtain x. Btw..AMAZING VIDEO SIR

Sir why we are taking the ratio of the x/y and the Rise /Fall ? Can you explain it by taking real life examples? Or we are assuming it to be equal while deriving the formula .Why we are assuming it can you explain with a real life example? Please sir I am confused.

Sir, can please explain (in another video) why graphically mode is calculated in that way I.e. why should we join AC, and BD...
@thephysicistin
@thephysicistin 3 жыл бұрын
This is a very simple thing. We join AC and BD just so that we can verify and deduce the proportionality using similarity of triangles.

Sir what happen if dotted line is not passed through the point E ?
@thephysicistin
@thephysicistin 3 жыл бұрын
The modal line (dotted) will always pass through E (the point of intersection of BD and AC). To verify, you can draw a normal from E to CD and name the foot as G. Now you can deduce that the triangles AEF and CEG are similar. Thus AE/EC = FE/EG. The triangles BEF and DEG are also similar. Thus BE/ED = FE/EG. This proves that E has to be the point of proportionality.
@ranjanakushwaha2534
@ranjanakushwaha2534 2 жыл бұрын
One more thing, without doing all the geometry we can still get by intuition that: R/R+F is the ratio which will be equal to the ratio x/h and hence substitute the values and get the formula.

Why mode is at intersection of line AC and BD .Please clear it.
@thephysicistin
@thephysicistin 3 жыл бұрын
For grouped data, we have to assume that the modal line divides the modal class into the two subclasses with the same ratio as that of rise/fall.

If I explain in Hindi, those students who don't understand Hindi won't get any benefit. But most students, even those from the Hindi belt, can understand English. In India there are more people who understand English than those who don't.
