Understanding the Kubernetes Resource Model and Controller Pattern

I gave this talk at a conference but it wasn't recorded. Did a rougher version of it on Twitch while it was still fresh. The first half covers the Kubernetes resource model and may be a good primer. Feel free to skip through the ReactJS bits. The second half may not be as useful because it's very dense and filled with boilerplate code but walks through the process of building a controller using primitives.

damn this was tough! Not sure why there aren't many forks, this is one of the few good resources about how to build an operator. Anyone tried a different provider for crayion? in processItem() why check for existence of the item, after all the previous chain to get this item? Shouldn't be a panic if the expected item doesn't exist any more? Thanks
