This video is extraordinarily valuable to me. In all its simplicity this man, Paul, explains the value of monastic life - its intercessory power. I have never heard it put so well. Yesterday I learned that my aunt Cinda will be dying soon. It came to mind to pray the Divine Mercy chalet for her. I had never prayed it for anyone specifically before, in fact I really hadn't prayed it much at all. But as I prayed, and afterwards I realized that I was truly praying for the Lord's Mercy on my aunt's soul. Each individual soul has such great value! I had watched all of Paul's monastic videos recently, but after watching it again today, after praying for my aunt yesterday and this morning, I am truly beginning to palpably understand the value of the contemplative life. "The monks are, on behalf of the world, in a way laboring as a sacrifice to pray for the world, in the world and on behalf of the world." Thomas Merton's metaphor is lovely as well. Thank you Paul, and thank you Dawn! Many blessings to you both.
