Understanding the New Model Lighting Ordinance

The state of Florida recently updated and certified the Model Lighting Ordinance for Sea Turtle Protection, a guide upon which local governments base their sea turtle lighting ordinances (attached). On April 13, the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) hosted a free webinar that explained what the Model Lighting Ordinance is, what changed in the new language, and why it is beneficial for local governments to update their existing ordinances. At the end of the presentation, STC and Tonya Long with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were available to answer questions about the new Model.
