I really appreciate the questions during the live chat. These were really good. Much better questions than I typically get during a theology seminar.

This was an excellent interview. Dr. Mullins explains things really clearly, and Jordan engages really well. I think this might be the best interview so far!

Also, the new look, with the questions at the bottom, was helpful. I think it helps the viewer stay focused on what is being talked about.

This was great. I wish I had a trans-script of this! I think I will have to listen again and take copious notes.

"God is timeless" is just a bombastic statement. God of course HAD TO DECIDE HIS OWN ACTIONS, He is the ONLY ONE who is entitled to do that! He therefore surely experienced in his existence a NEED TO DECIDE. However, this condition cannot last forever. AFTER DECIDING his existence changed because He did not experience that need ANYMORE. God is thus NOT timeless. Of course that change in time from before (need) to after (no need anymore) did not occur in our flow of time, made of years, months, seconds. That change occurred in his particular own "God's time". If you believe in the trinity you have another example with Jesus since He is also God. There was a time BEFORE his life on earth and a time AFTER that. His life changed: no more obligations to die on the cross.

I'm just starting but wait. Can't we say the relational theory of time by it's definition still works if the beginning of time is the first "moment"? If there is a "first moment", than the moment and the time begin to exist simultaneously. Doesn't that rule out the problem? Maybe the issue is that saying "moments" can't be "more fundamental" than "time", but could they not be described as equally fundamental? Time = Moments? I'm way over my head here LOL Gonna keep watching.

Yo man you need to chill with the ads my guy. I like this channel and appreciate the work done but my goodness. Remember why you do this. It shouldn't be to make a buck on ads, and 5 ads in 10 mins is so annoying.

Why is the circularity of the definition of the relational view of time an issue? Why couldn’t we just say that time us too basic to define without circularity?… meaning that the concept is nog made of more fundamental concepts

Can i say that without God there is no time? In the same way without God there is no maths/numbers or logic? Time is not God, but we cannot separate time from God. Existence itself depends on God and when there is existences, the metaphysical is assumed.

We will be better off just calling classical theism as a doctrine from hell, and be done with it.

@@brando3342 I would not say God is temporal "only after creation", because if he wasn't temporal before, he wouldn't have been able to take the initiative to create. To create would have been a timeless act, which necessarily implies that creation is timeless.
@brando3342
@brando3342 3 жыл бұрын
@@andryranivoarizaka9772 Not exactly. The free will act of God to create was the first instance of time and the first "decision" God ever made. Free will decisions do not have a cause apart from the agent that wills them. So, the initiative was solely on God, and his decision to create was the epicenter of time, space and matter. His (uncaused) free will act caused "Tzero" and "Tzero" was the first measurable moment.

Eternalism destroys God? God as a moral rational being anyway. Jesus is suffering on the cross, right now, over and over and over again. S/T has to be deterministic also does it not. ' you' step into the same the identical waters that ' you' already have. That you, for eg, came on board maybe at the hat time Then started moving forward in time. That's certainly our experience of time. We have memories of experiences we never had. Screen memories I call em. Doesn't this ultimately demand universalism as a righting mechanism. If you say come on line the moment of your death, to tease out the point in bold relief here, one must end up in heaven? The only question that remains is,straight up to universalism or purgatory. Time served, this side of the grave might be deemed as morally sufficient..

was really enjoying your channel until the guest talks of a 'best' metal band, and wears black metal t shirts... I am a former metal lead singer... I just cant understand how that stuff doesn't revolt you if you are born again... if you are not born again, regardless of your philsophical knowledge, it is vain... just some thoughts
