If like me, this thing is driving you mad because it has reached its 'end of life' and will not stop beeping three times every minute, then look for a metal rod shaped lever on the back of the unit and use a screw driver to flick it to a downward pointing direction. This turns it off. You can alternatively smash it to bits with a hammer if it has really annoyed you. I did consider this option, even after it stopped beeping.

Thing is so annoying! Bleeping 3 times due to end of life. For anyone with a wall fixed one. There is a tab at the bottom, depress it towards the bottom plate and slide the alarm off the base plate towards the top of the alarm

All jolly good stuff, but how do you STOP the sodding thing beeping if there's a fault? I've got people knocking on my door to see if I'm alright.

@@Millie-xs2ht Apparently you can take the back off, this reveals a micro switch which will stop the beeping. However, my next door neighbour locked mine in his car, where we couldn't hear it, and iit did eventually stop.

Supposed to last ten years? Mine is going off as end of life after only three. It beeps every minute. Remove back cover and there is a lever/switch you can flick which mutes the device permanently. Goodbye Firehawk.
