Thanks for this video. You say @0:49 (a) every foot of water has a weight of .434 pounds, (b) every foot of water you get a psi of .434 pounds. While (b) is correct, (a) is not. The weight is Density x Volume. Water one foot high in a 100 x 100 foot tower is 10,000 cubic feet. 10,000cf x 7.48gal/cf = 74,800 gallons. 74,800gal x 8.345p/gal = 624,206 pounds. The area is 100f x 100f x 144si/sf = 1,440,000si. 624,206p / 1,440,000si = 0.43 psi as you say. But the foot of water weighs 624,206 pounds. If the tower is 3 x 3 inches @1:59, water one foot high weighs 3.9 pounds, but still has 0.43psi on 9si. Your video confirmed a question I had, “Is the pressure related to the weight of the fluid?”. In these examples, there’s a direct relationship, unless my calculations are wrong.

Great video on a topic commonly misunderstood. Can you explain why you went with .434 vs the commonly stated value of .433? Was this just in error or is there a deeper math I haven't heard yet?

Thanks but i have a question. 40psi small tank vs 40psi big tank. Does pressure the same? I mean i will use small pressure tank for a hotel instead of big. Is the pressure the same?

How do you explain "pounds PER SQ INCH" without once bringing up the SQUARE INCH? Not a single person who watched this video has walked away with the ability to calculate pressure in a given volume of water. Sorry but you did a much better job explaining sewer traps and backwater valves.

Well if as explained 1’ of water in height weighs .434 pounds. 12” in a foot, divide by 12 for 1” weight or psi. It’s sort of laid right out there for folks.

You are missing the point, no offense. One foot of water in height weighs.434 pounds per inch. Ten foot of water in height provides 4.34 psi in other words.
