I found this video valuable. I actually learnt two new terms from you ( line of sight and true ballistic range ).

Just picked up my first Luepold product, thank you Randy for your rangefinder review, and the discount code, it still works!

Excellent video. Ishot out to 600 yards for the first time yesterday. My rifle was zeroed at 200 yards. The 600 yard target was below the horizon. After hitting the target at 600 yards, the MOA elevation on my scope showed the target was only 517 yards away. I was puzzled as to why. After watching you video, now I understand what happened. Thank you for teaching me.

The trick is the learning curve on the Leupold TBR. I wish there were some detailed instructions with examples on a video somewhere.

Thanks for sharing, always good to watch a quick reminder on such vital gear like a rangefinder, especially one that can do all that trig for you. Good luck this season, I know the Year of the Elk has been kicked off properly with Michael P. with others soon to follow.

What are you thoughts on rangefinding binoculars? I like the idea of having everything all in one and with certain brands that use BT connection where they can communicate with a ballistic calculator then feed the correct adjustments back to the binos seems like such a huge benefit.

On a road trip currently to Gillette WYO. any tips for highly pressured public? Great video, I’ve always been confused between line of sight and tbr.

Flat ground distance is not quite accurate, (COS) is more accurate for longer ranges than you FGD/TBR.

I know this is old post but should be the same thing tbr=cos

I don't hunt anymore. Frankly, can't be bothered. But I do explore, prospect, bird, hike, etc; and it seems as though what is more useful to me is actual line-of-sight distance. Can those Leupold models you mention give me LOS and true ballistic range separately? Many thanks.
