Ahh the days of practicing scales over and over with my mom watching me like a hawk making sure I did it right. I was always so scared with her in the room but I know she just wanted her girl to have everything memorized and learned so she can be the soloist she is today.

Yes!!! Sight reading duets when you're unprepared for your lesson 😂

It is true that usually your teacher's mood on any given day has nothing to do with you. That's not an excuse to be unprepared for the lesson, but just don't take their mood towards you too personally. They are most likely preoccupied with the 5000 other things on their plate. Good video! Very cool! :)

I love my teacher so much, she is really nice and also a VERY good flute player, so it always kind of freaks me out a little bit when she seems a bit distracted or distant, or maybe unsatisfied 😂

My orchestra director was Russian-Moldovan, my music history teacher was Hungarian, my flute teacher is American and my piano teacher was from Uruguay. Hispanic teachers are just as strict as Asian music teachers. They're scary. 😳

YES THIS TOPIC IS SO FRUSTRATING!! I am currently studying with someone who cannot dissect their playing to SAVE THEIR LIFE. I mean, all due respect, she was a great flutist in her day, but she no longer performs and is sort of past the whole teaching thing. She has a really hard time using words outside her few set "catch phrases" that the whole studio knows. Good to know I'm not the only one that has had teacher struggles!
