This should be shown in schools and universities. Just thinking now, l don’t remember to have attended any class during school or university with so much depth and so engaging. It’s a story about business, art, life, told at the highest standard. This cat 🐈 approves, again. 10/10

I think the medium is tricky. KZbin, much like all social media platforms, in general makes people think that the information is unreliable. But given the fact that there are many many books with straight up fake information, it makes you wonder if that can change, and if it will be able to be used in that way (I know of two universities that currently have me either in their syllabus or in their suggested reading already) or if Ill have to get an ISBN 😂

Daniel “Motta” Mello, is a fashion PR Genius with an excellent appreciation of the past with his eyes in the future. We went to college together and he always had the great ability to incorporate fashion, art, history, quality and “what the kids are wearing” mindsets. I adore Mr. Anderson and your in-depth research! You have a great ability of exploring historic house codes, their languages, social movements, and the importance of legacy houses moving forward to stay relevant, while maintaining craftsmanship and appreciating their past.

Thank you so much for that lovely compliment about me. But mostly I want to agree with DMM, he seems to have his finger right on the pulse, and though he is wuite new to Loewe, Im interested how he contributes to their growth, he was obviously known for his quick success at Bottega so its interesting to see that translate in to quality leathers again

Fantastic information! I spent my teenage years, late 70’s, in Barcelona and was always in awe of their windows on Passeig de García. If I may, the pronunciation of two words I need to address. The first/Christian name Vicente has three syllables as it is a Castilian name, not French. More like be-then-tay versus van-sant. And the perfume house of Puig, is Catalan, so should be pronounced pooch versus pwig. Brava for the deep dive on this house!
@understitchYT22 сағат бұрын
I absolutely knew I was saying Vincente wrong but I tried to check and couldnt come to a decision, so I just acquiesced to what felt right. However, I did not know Puig was pronounced Pooch, I have had farrrrr too many conversations with fashion people who pronounce it as I did! I will relay your message every time now 🤍

Absolutely incredible and in-depth video! As an obsessed yet new LOEWE fan, I've always been curious about its history and how craft became such a cornerstone to the brand. However, my searches have always come up fruitless with info being very sparse and disjointed-- even from LOEWE's own sources. This video not only filled those gaps, but exponentially expanded my knowledge of the fashion world. This newfound knowledge really makes me appreciate the LOEWE pieces I've collected over the years and love them even more than I already do. I really thank you for making such an informative video through such beautiful storytelling. This video really solidifies the genius that is Jonathan Anderson. The innovation he has brought to LOEWE while staying true to its heritage of craft has been a wonder to witness. I had no idea the cursive LOEWE logo introduced in the Paula's Ibiza collections was actually the logo on a previous storefront! He has infused LOEWE's entire history into its modern identity and created something worth the laud and admiration it receives. LOEWE's runways shows are often ones I look forward to most since I know there will be something exciting and new. I especially appreciate how you've characterized LOEWE as a brand. I have always been drawn to their so-called "craft," but have never been able to truly pinpoint what makes it so enticing. I think you've really hit the nail on the head by describing it as "art couture" which is indeed hard to replicate and in my opinion has been something lost since the 90's and 2000's in fashion. We are seeing some shows that bring that level of performance back into their brands such as Galliano's Maison Margiela, but still no one is as pure to this intention as LOEWE is. I'm honestly surprised to see how successful LOEWE has been in Asia. Japan alone has more stores than it's origin country Spain. I thought their success in that region has been a recent development, however it seems they've established themselves in Asia since their first few forays into the international market. I'm now really curious to see the history and reasoning behind LOEWE's popularity in Asia!
@understitchYT22 сағат бұрын
Im so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for such a considered comment. In regards to Asia, I would LOVE to know more about their distribution or their popularity in East Asia specifically. It was even before the 90s Japan boom in distribution which Ive talked so much about before. Fascinating and mysterious at the same time
@Runtywendo9 сағат бұрын
@understitchYT Agreed! I can guess that LOEWE had such a strong footing in Japan because of Japan's historical dedication to art (craft in particular), however I'd love to see some concrete evidence to support my hypothesis. Japan has always been an enigmatic luxury market with many brands often offering Japan exclusive items when not even their original country will offer any. (E.g., Dior has Japanese exclusive merchandise but not for France) I have no idea why, but it's intriguing in the business of fashion nevertheless! As for the rest of Asia, I really want to see LOEWE's story to success!

Incredible work! 👏👏👏 I recently visited Florence,Italy and they have a small Loewe section in one of the malls and I loved it! They had pink and green tiling. Even had enough room to have a couple of art pieces and furniture pieces. They did the most with the limited square footage they had. The salesperson was also very knowledgeable about the most recent collection. I def liked that. They were more informational than “salesy”. They also currently have 2 of the exterior displays with the same tile, products and furniture theme. I’m not an expert but doesn’t that mean that Loewe is paying a premium for being in the displays since it’s not their store? As an architect I enjoyed that an architect helped them early on. We do have a way of thinking at different scales and dimensions.
@understitchYT5 күн бұрын
An architect was the brainchild behind the whole marketing of Loewe over the last 75-ish years! A genius! And sometimes brands pay for windows, most often its what the store believes will get customers through the door, so their most popular or eyecatching brands. Reasons vary but yeah

Exceptional! Will the algorithm notice links posted in a pinned comment?
@understitchYT5 күн бұрын
Its hard to know, but I know I regretted including them before and from metrics I can see so few people click on reference links anyway that its not worth it. Esp here where the timeline in quotes is well over 100 pages of typed text just in used referential links, so it would have killed this video dead in the water, I dont even think I have the character count to include them all tbh. In the end it just went where I know the most interested members can find them. I can still get out individual information sources if asked here but with titles instead of links if people ask anyway, Im not trying to gatekeep, otherwise I wouldve made it into a book and kept the video to 20 minutes 😂😂
@ivanmylesКүн бұрын
